Job Summary:

Disney Streaming Services is a business unit within The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment that oversees all consumer-facing digital video subscription services across the company.

Within DSS’s product organization, the Platform Commerce team is responsible for developing and optimizing capabilities that drive growth and retention. As part of our mission to make accessing our services as easy as possible, our team is currently seeking a Sr Product Manager to drive the roadmap and features for commerce functionality across 3rd Party Distribution and strategic partnerships.

Reporting to the Director of Commerce Product - and part of the rapidly growing Platform Product team - you will be tasked with leading all aspects of customer acquisition through strategic partners including App Stores (Apple, Google, Amazon and Roku), Mobile Carriers and MVPD services. This role functions as a day-to-day liaison between business, engineering, marketing and product organizations to deliver commerce growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and assume product ownership for our Partner API, our standardized approach for scaling our 3rd party relationships with Mobile Carriers and MVPDs.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Account Management team to help advance our purchase capabilities via 3rd party app stores (Apple, Google, Roku and Amazon)
  • Establish KPIs, best practices and documentation for all aspects of customer acquisition and retention through 3rd parties
  • Analyze existing 3rd party user experiences to identify opportunities to drive growth and improve value propositions for our users
  • Translate inputs and business needs into detailed product requirements documents and user stories for engineering teams to execute
  • Collaborate with our Devices and Distribution (D&D) team to liaison with MVPDs and mobile carriers to understand gaps in our product offering and inform product roadmap needs.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Account Management team to help advance our purchase capabilities via 3rd party app stores (Apple, Google, Roku and Amazon)
  • Liaison with engineering, design, marketing, product leadership, analytics and business insight teams to validate objectives and business requirements
  • Synthesize market changes and technology improvements into actionable improvements for the platform through market research and competitive analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • You have at least 3 years of experience and a successful history of product management and software delivery at scale
  • You have deep familiarity with the streaming video industry and understand the different value propositions that all the market leaders offer their customers
  • You understand the benefits and trade-offs between Direct Billing and In-App Purchases
  • You have experience working with applications across a wide variety of platforms including web, mobile devices, game consoles, OTT video devices (AppleTV, etc) and other hardware (STB, etc.)
  • You excel at coordinating multiple projects at a time
  • You have an ability to make quick decisions to solve complex technical and operational challenges
  • You put focus on supporting team interaction, boosting motivation, and appreciating contributions from your peers
  • You have experience in hypothesis driven outcomes, using data and research to help inform decisions
  • You are comfortable in fast changing environment, with frequently changing demands, building and managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ideally you have previously worked on streaming video, music, or entertainment products
  • Ideally you have previous experience in delivering product solutions for B2B2C
