Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Manager of SEO to join the Disney Media and Entertainment (DMED) Digital Media Publishing Strategy team, which works across Disney news and entertainment brands, including ABC News and Good Morning America, ABC, Freeform, etc. This person will oversee a combined technical and content SEO team and collaborate with editorial, digital marketers, product managers, engineers, development teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure the highest level of discoverability for DMED Digital Media content across platforms. A successful candidate will bring significant real-world experience in SEO and online marketing. They must be able to lead effectively, have exceptional organization skills, and deliver results.


  • Lead and develop SEO initiatives
  • Exceed SEO growth targets
  • Ensure we follow proper SEO procedures, from on-page content to technical integrations
  • Perform technical, keyword and link research to identify and address incremental reach opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry and the competitive landscape
  • Work closely with editorial, production, and product/technology teams to implement SEO best practices
  • Communicate initiatives to all levels of stakeholders, including executive leadership
  • Responsible for identifying and remediating critical issues in a timely manner

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years direct SEO experience, preferably for a major media organization
  • Proven track record – Applicants must submit current examples that demonstrate their SEO ability and be prepared to discuss
  • Passion for optimizing and finding new ways to deliver information to usersStrong SEO copywriting skills
  • Expert level familiarity with web/SEO analytics tools
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders and technical resources
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Editorial experience a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
