The Alarms Systems Tech is more than just a technician with electronic skills. The Alarms Systems Tech is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on fire protection/security systems, and associated proprietary electronic monitoring systems at Walt Disney World. Safety is front-and-center which is why the candidate will be expected to perform scheduled, planned and unscheduled work, along with responding to any needs of the resort. This is a field service position that may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and planned work on fire protection and security
  • Repair and maintain electronic monitoring systems associated with alarms
  • Will work with fire protection equipment/systems to include Siemens, Pryotronics, Edwards Systems Technology and more
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills with soldering/desoldering and smoke detector sensitivity measuring equipment
  • Experience with NFPA Fire Protection Codes and Standards
  • Understanding of fire protection equipment/systems (Siemens/Cerberus/Pyrotronics, or Edwards System Technology EST-1, EST-2, EST-3, and EST-QS)
  • Must have or be able to obtain within 60 days, a Florida State Alarm Systems Agent/Burglar Alarm System Agent (FASA/BASA) registration
  • Experience troubleshooting digital and analog circuits to the component level
  • Must have or be able to obtain Level-1 NICET Certification within 60 days
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, prints and construction prints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalent
