Job Summary:

The Enterprise Compensation team is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support corporate clients, as well as all functional organizations of The Walt Disney Company, including: Human Resources, Finance, Technology, Legal, Strategic Planning, and other areas. These organizations are enablers of our world-class businesses, and span across all segments and geographies. In this work, the Enterprise Compensation team partners with other human resource functions to develop solutions that attract, retain, and motivate top talent for these organizations globally.

As part of the Enterprise Compensation team, the Compensation Consultant provides guidance to assigned internal clients and collaborates with HR partners in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support the company’s business strategy. The Compensation Consultant also collaborates with compensation peers in each of the business segments on the implementation of centralized, harmonized, and seamless compensation support for functional organizations that span across all business segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Compensation Leaderships and HR Business Partners in supporting client groups by providing compensation solutions with the ability to influence and negotiate with Sr. Level clients
  • Consult directly with HR Business Partners and clients as a subject matter expert to ensure compensation programs are aligned and relevant to both the market and business conditions
  • Provide guidance and pay recommendations for employees at all levels including Sr. Executive-level compensation packages
  • Proactively conduct external and internal market studies and evaluate competitiveness by developing solutions and manage the execution of action plans with partners and senior leaders
  • Actively seek market intelligence and industry-specific data to: obtain in-depth understanding of the market and industry-specific compensation trends for functional roles and inform and recommend solutions to ensure compensation programs are industry aligned and best in class
  • Evaluate jobs and development of job families in support of an evolving business, acquisitions, and reorganization needs
  • Work closely with project team and act as the primary lead during the annual planning cycle for assigned client groups including auditing, reporting, and rollup meeting with senior leaders
  • Project manage a variety of cross-segment strategic initiatives which include technology compensation programs evaluation, job family standardizations, research market practices and providing recommendations to leaders.
  • Lead large scale cross-segment competitive data analysis for base, incentives, and LTI utilizing advanced Excel tools, Access database, and/or Tableau visualization tables
  • Serves as a mentor for less experienced compensation professionals within the group

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in compensation supporting complex client base with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact and negotiate with all levels of management
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong business acumen
  • Effective consulting skills and a business-oriented mindset
  • Strong sense of teamwork, conflict resolution skills and relationship builder Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and advanced level in Excel or Access
  • Familiarity with SAP, WORKDAY or other HRIS system is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably with a large corporate employer or leading consulting firm

Required Education

  • BS Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or a Business-related field
