The Agricultural Sciences team, part of Disney's Animals, Science & Environment, offers positions designed to provide you with hands-on work experience in the unique growing areas that are part of Living with The Land, an agricultural attraction at Epcot®. This position in Agricultural Sciences requires a professional background in plant sciences including horticulture sciences, plant biology, nutrition, entomology, and plant tissue culture.

This posting is to apply to work as a Plant Science Intern within the greenhouses at The Land Pavilion in Epcot.

The rate of pay is $18.90 per hour. This internship begins on January 6, 2025 (arrival) and ends on June 19, 2025 (departure date). You must be fully available for the entire period.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high-quality greenhouse show of over 150 hydroponically-grown food crops from all over the globe.
  • Promote the message of sustainable agriculture for Disney Guests through participating in area operations such as insect rearing, biotechnology, hydroponic growing systems and crop research.
  • Participate in trainings, classes and meetings to contribute to the innovation and success of the Living with the Land greenhouse operation and to further individual expertise in the field of agriculture.
  • Propagate, transplant, irrigate, prune and harvest a wide variety of plants.
  • Provide show-quality maintenance and general cleanup: washing, raking, and sweeping greenhouse areas.

Basic Qualifications:

All Candidates must meet these guidelines:
  • Interest in working with food crops in greenhouses
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Can operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting
  • Can work in hot, humid greenhouses
  • Be fully available through your offered departure date.
  • Must adhere to all Disney Look guidelines.

Candidates not currently participating on a Disney Program must meet these guidelines:
  • Currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited US* college, university, or higher education program OR have graduated from an accredited US* college, university, or higher education program within 24 months of the application posting date
  • Must have completed at least one semester at an accredited US* college, university, or higher education program by time of program arrival
  • Meet any individual school requirements (GPA, grade level, etc.), if applicable
  • Be at least 18 years of age at time of application
  • Former Disney Program participants must wait four (4) months after their last departure before applying
  • Candidates who receive an offer will be required to pay the Program Participation Fee & Housing Fee within days of their program offer date.
*US includes all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and all other US territories.

Candidates currently participating on a Disney Program must meet these guidelines:
  • Have arrived June 17, 2024 or later
    • Please be aware that you cannot participate in consecutive programs totaling more than one calendar year, including any combination of Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internships
  • A $240 non-refundable extension Program Participation Fee will be collected upon accepting your extension offer. In addition, if you have a registered vehicle here, you will pay a $100 parking decal renewal fee for your extension. If you would like to purchase a new decal for your extension, you will need to pay a $200 vehicle decal fee. You will receive additional communication about when you can purchase a decal via email. Please know that parking decals are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. You MUST have a vehicle pre-registered in DORMS to purchase a parking decal. Please note that if you have already fully accepted an extension in your original role and location, you will not be required to pay another Program Participation Fee
  • No more than FOUR (4) attendance points within the last six (6) months (not including early shift releases or authorized days off); No more than ONE (1) reprimand within the last six (6) months

Required Education

  • Applicable background or degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Food Crops, Biology, or related major
  • Minimum grade point average of 2.0

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Plant Science or related field
  • Associate’s Degree or higher
