Job Summary:

Develop, lead and manage key wholesale, airline, retail and tourism partner sales, product and marketing strategies and execution across ANZ, India & SE Asia to ensure targets are exceeded.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive all local relationships with key distributors and manage their overall sales strategy, marketing plans, and annual plan to reach targets
  • Conduct monthly detailed analysis of all trade partners sales activity and use to determine development opportunities, changes required or other actions to drive yearly plan targets
  • To lead, manage and develop direct report(s) including (but not limited to) the Travel Business Development Assistant
  • Explore opportunities to broaden the funnel of potential clients that have the ability and scale to sell DDI product and ensure the business case is structured and succinct
  • Own and drive our take to market approach for the trade industry, from full account management in terms of distribution, marketing, training, and future opportunities to grow our footprint
  • Work with US core teams to lead development of Disney Resorts - admissions and room nights – and Disney Cruise Line (TBD) bookings for ANZ, India & SE Asia
  • Work with key wholesale, airlines and retail travel partners to ensure maximum exposure of Disney product in their sales & marketing activities
  • To create top of mind awareness for Disney Destinations as the preferred leisure and business destination for ANZ, India & SE Asia travelers and to optimise sales opportunities for all Disney Destinations globally
  • Support the Director with LTP and proofing of the DDI business in regards to significant changes in distribution and the pros/cons for making these changes
  • Develop local trade & consumer marketing communications plans and master database, leveraging media partners to drive DDI presence in markets
  • Develop and implement Travel Industry training programs, including conferences, tradeshows, education, family and on-line initiatives
  • Adept at gaining data from partners and clients and being able to analyse this and present back key results to the business
  • Negotiate, manage, execute and measure all trade partner marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with internal TWDC teams and departments to deliver optimal synergy brand and campaign results
  • Monitor travel industry intelligence, opportunities, and threats to enable DDI Core teams to understand current trends in Australia and New Zealand, and recommending ways in which DDI may maximize returns in a changing market
  • Negotiate maximum value and execute contra partnerships and opportunities with airlines, tourism boards and trade partners
  • Develop and create the annual trade sales and marketing strategy and contribute to the broader DDI Trade and Consumer ICP
  • Represent the Disney Destinations brand at conferences, roadshows, consumer events, trade familiarizations and when speaking with trade media
  • Develop and event manage Disney Destinations presence at the annual Disney Days Roadshow and other trade partner roadshows, conferences and events
  • Handle trade product, contractual, technological and financial queries and complaints

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience in international travel industry sales and marketing
  • Background in hotel sales/contracting, Marketing/PR would be an advantage
  • A thorough understanding of the Disney Destination portfolio of parks, resorts and cruise line and the travel industry landscape is an advantage
  • Ability to travel extensively both inter-state and internationally

  • Strong product knowledge across all Disney Destinations International
  • Ability to present, influence and inspire small to large groups of clients and stakeholders
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to examine issues from a broad perspective while considering impact beyond immediate scope
  • Logical and lateral thinker
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills to ensure all priorities and multiple deadlines are met
  • A strong team player who contributes to an environment that embraces innovation
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Strong understanding of international travel industry
  • Ability to understand and evaluate marketing plans and strategies
  • Strong public speaking ability

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects involving multiple partners/stakeholders
