Job Summary:

Under the leadership of the Finance Director, Studios, this role is responsible for the provision of value-adding analysis and insight, driving business decisions for Motion Pictures ANZ. The role is to collaborate effectively with financial and non-financial business partners, influence key budget holders around risks and opportunities, and proactively identify opportunities for business improvement.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Take responsibility for Financial Planning and Reporting activity for Motion Pictures ANZ to ensure effective financial administration for the LOB
  • Ensure all budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial processing is delivered on time and to high quality standards
  • Monitor, analyse and report Box Office and revenue results against targets
  • Work closely with marketing teams to prepare, monitor and reconcile marketing budgets on an ongoing basis
  • Lead the Quarter-end and Year-end close process
  • Provide analytical support for the Strategic Plan, Budgeting and Forecasting processes as required
  • Analyse operational results based on key drivers vs. budget/forecast; support management in making improvements
  • Support the preparation of presentation of results to management
  • Consider the wider business implications of financial performance, developing insight to help guide future business decisions
  • Support the broader Studios Finance team with projects day to day tasks as required

Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and deliver financial presentations for key business stakeholders to inform thinking about current and future business management
  • Use own initiative to highlight problems before they arise and propose solutions to mitigate business risk for the LOB
  • Build relationships with key business stakeholders to provide guidance and influence their thinking around future business direction
  • Influence key budget holders on the basis of identified risks and opportunities to help guide future business planning
  • Share knowledge effectively across the finance function where appropriate to facilitate good financial management and support the development of others

Continuous Improvement
  • Take responsibility for discrete projects to deliver improved financial management or systems
  • Contribute to projects beyond the Finance function, using professional expertise to support, advise and guide others as part of cross-functional project teams
  • Review existing processes and actively challenge the status quo, providing process/systems improvement that will positively impact business effectiveness

Basic Qualifications:

  • Senior stakeholder management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial analysis, planning and budgeting
  • Media and Entertainment industry experience strongly preferred
  • SAP knowledge and hands on experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Strong attention to detail

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Economics or Finance
