Job Summary:

This role provides business partnering support to select client groups across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) ANZ including delivering best practice HR programs and guidance to stakeholders of all levels. As a trusted business partner, this role manages professional and effective relationships and understands business drivers and priorities, in order to provide commercial HR generalist advice and support. Working within the Human Resources team for Australia and New Zealand, the HR Manager is required to be an excellent team player, highly professional, proactive and visible across the ANZ business. The position is key to delivering HR projects and initiatives and ensuring the HR function delivers its strategic and operational objectives in ANZ.
  • ​This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Responsibilities:

HR Strategy Execution 
  • Contributes to the execution and implementation of the HR strategy so that the Company attracts, manages, develops and retains the employees it needs to achieve its current and future business objectives. 
  • Work with the HR Director and Senior HR Managers to deliver on annual HR Strategic plan, and partner closely with other HR team members to ensure effective and ‘best in class’ HR delivery achieved across the business 
  • In partnership with client groups, proactively drive the implementation of the ANZ HR strategy and provide full HR advice and support to Line Managers that complies with company policies, procedures, best practice and legislative requirements 
  • Pro-actively develop strong working relationships across the business, enabling a solutions focused approach to delivering HR initiatives 
  • Apply commercial thinking to provide pragmatic and informed HR solutions and ideas which meet both the business needs and align with the HR agenda 
  • Partner with business leaders to deliver organisational change initiatives including, organisation design, change management planning & facilitation and developing employee communications
HR Cyclical Projects

Support the Senior HR Managers annual HR processes across the business including: 
  • Merit: support the annual merit planning process, as required. Working closely with client groups to ensure the merit and bonus process is effectively managed and delivers against business objectives, to time and budget. 
  • Talent & Succession Planning: support the talent planning processes with client groups, including talent forums, quarterly talent check-ins with LOB Heads and the annual talent management process 
  • Performance Management: support business leaders proactively manage employee performance, including managing all processes relating to DAchieve 
  • Learning & Development: partner with client groups to identify L&D needs and work with them to develop and implement programs and solutions, including identification of training partners, program design and delivery of content. 
  • Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure recruitment is effectively managed across client groups 
  • Pro-actively share knowledge/insights/external learnings etc. across the ANZ HR Team ensure the team is kept up to date and a culture of feedback, learning and ongoing improvement is developed 
  • Own and deliver annual HR projects as agreed with the HR Director and Senior HR Managers. Projects include those relating to Diversity & Inclusion; Learning & Development; Disney Wellbeing; Talent Management; Systems and Process Improvement 
  • Provide advisory support to managers on all people management matters, including those relating to performance, flexible working, disciplinary and grievance issues 
  • Provide advisory support to cast members 
  • Partner with the Internal Communications team to ensure effective HR Communications across the ANZ business
  • Develop appropriate policies and guidelines to meet the business needs in line with current employment legislation
  • Manage HR systems, including SAP, ensuring information is up to date
  • Manage monthly payroll processes (including checking monthly payroll) 
  • Support the wider HR team with HR administration, as required e.g. new starter process; changes to terms and conditions; visas, salary survey information etc
  • Identify and escalate any HR issues/opportunities to the Senior HR Manager, as appropriate 
  • Partner with regional colleagues and COE contacts on projects and opportunities for the ANZ market, as appropriate

Basic Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Proven track record in managing client relationships - significant experience operating at HR Manager level and managing clients at Director level and above
  • Demonstrable generalist and multi-discipline Human Resources experience
  • Proven experience of significant change management/OD experience
  • Evident experience of multi-national, fast-paced, progressive, commercial and/or matrixed organisations
  • Demonstrable project management experience delivering ‘end to end’ projects

  • Fast and effective relationship builder across all levels and geographies
  • Demonstrable experience of grasping issues quickly and delivering effective and efficient solutions
  • Ability to quickly develop organisational savvy and effectively managing sensitive matters

  • Ability to adopt a consultant style approach to the role, partnering with the business, developing good relationships both within and external to the organization
  • High level of personal credibility and ability to engage with the business and to exercise sound judgement
  • Ability to work flexibly, with an openness to participate in multiple projects, leading and supporting, as required
  • Well-organised and able to manage multiple projects/relationships
  • Self-starter and able to work autonomously (requiring minimal supervision)
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering value-adding HR solutions
  • Familiar with relevant HR-oriented technologies and computer literate (Experience of SAP is desirable)
  • Ability to operate in a confidential manner
  • Able to operate and work effectively with MS Office Suite: - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Required Education

• Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in Business/Commerce, or Human Resources, or equivalent work experience
