Job Summary:

The Senior Insights Analyst is responsible for helping to develop and carrying out the research and insights strategy, which will involve identifying and communicating actionable insights to promote data-driven decision-making, at The Walt Disney Company in Australia and New Zealand. The Insights Analyst will be a creative and curious business enthusiast who keeps up to date with current and emerging trends across the media, entertainment, retail and technology sectors. They will be an integral part of the Strategy & Insights team, that works closely with the territory Managing Director, CFO and local Leadership Team on key issues of strategic importance, spanning across all local business areas including: Disney Streaming Services, Studios, Media Distribution, Stage/Live Events, Retail and Channels.

Responsibilities:

Research and Insights Generation
  • Work with senior business unit executives to identify, prioritise and coordinate core research & insights needs that are aligned to key strategic outcomes for Australia & New Zealand
  • Manage relationships as required with external agencies and vendors and support ongoing review process to ensure best selection of 3rd party providers
  • Scope and run deep dive market research & insights projects
  • Establish and maintain ongoing tracker/periodic market research & insights projects including those driven from the US
  • Keep updated on news and issues explored in the media
  • Generate consumer, business, content, brand and competitive insights to inform investment decisions and strategic plans
  • Create compelling, persuasive presentation materials to communicate key learnings and recommendations to senior level executives
  • Align and work with internal Brand Management & Insights teams based in the US
Data Management
  • Build, maintain and analyse longitudinal data sets that integrate data from multiple sources, within the business as well as 3rd party data
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from around the business to create appropriate access to information via data visualisation and/or other tools and processes
Strategy & Business Development Collaboration
  • Support strategic and business development projects to ensure quality and consistency of data and insights used and collaborate to leverage these to deliver action-oriented recommendations
  • Develop and maintain a consistent dataset and repository of consumer & brand insights that can be easily accessed and leveraged by the business
  • Contribute to Australia & New Zealand consumer segmentation analysis and integration with business planning
Project Management
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects at any one time and with minimal direction from the Strategy Manager
  • Work effectively with team members throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as in other areas of The Walt Disney Company

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an analyst or consultant, overseeing primary research projects, data analysis and insights generation to drive business outcomes, within a research agency, management consulting firm, professional services firm or corporate insights team
