Job Summary:

The individual will be part of a team responsible for Procurement Activities, with a focus on client management, category management, and technical solutions, in support of The Walt Disney Company Business Units. The Sourcing Specialist will manage vendors with a focus on reducing supply base and optimizing the value the end user receives. The Sourcing Specialist will participate on high energy, cross-functional teams responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing arrangements with preferred suppliers.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Able to tailor effective communication to internal clients depending on level of audience.
  • Meet clients’ requirements for service, quality and value at lowest total cost to the Company.
  • Develop and analyze sourcing data to develop reporting, analysis and strategy recommendations.
  • Develop understanding of Disney systems to capture data required for reporting and analysis.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and report status, performance measures that demonstrate value and ensure supplier performance to key stakeholders.
Collaboration & Support
  • Assist with AOP development; forecast and track AOP and monthly reporting.
  • Where needed, provide support on projects related to sourcing platforms or systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practices.
  • Provide equivalent support to other territories as needed.
Compliance & RFPs:
  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and best practices.
  • Continually assess market conditions and develop procurement strategies that maximize value to the Company.
  • Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances.
  • Prepare Invitations to Bid for small to medium size marketing and events projects.
  • Evaluate potential contractors and consultants using your analytical skills and market benchmarking
  • Lead structured supplier negotiations.
  • Review contracts issues and work with legal department to resolve them.
General Admin:
  • Maintain all records, documents, correspondence, and materials related to any sourcing activity in an understandable format such that files can be readily audited.
  • Report status of project initiatives in a concise and timely manner to management.
  • Process SAP integrated software system transactions related to the contracts created in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions that affect suppliers, cost of goods, pricing, and the resulting impact on clients.
  • Research and implement “best practices” for procurement, including supporting technologies related to sourcing commodities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Understand Sourcing and supports future direction of Sourcing
  • Change agent willing to ask the hard questions and lead efforts to create and implement improvement in the organization and Company
  • Knowledge of best practices – eRFX, strategic alliances, Continuous improvement, etc.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Experience with SAP or other ERP
  • Experience with Ariba or other Procurement tools

Required Education

  • A minimum of 4 ~ 5 years’ experience in procuring goods and services
  • Marketing and Events related sourcing experience would be an advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Engineering or Supply chain management
  • Good understanding and ability to use SAP and Ariba tools.
