Summary:

We are seeking a talented, and team-oriented Technical Program Manager to join our distributed (Amsterdam, NYC, LA and Seattle) Growth Design team. This is an opportunity to collaborate with the very best in design, product and technology to help shape industry-leading products used by millions across the world.

Through excellent communication, organization, and experience with workflows pertaining to Partnerships and Growth & Commerce, you will drive planning, managing and executing projects working with the Product Design team responsible for the foundational (core) platform experience. You will be responsible for supporting the Growth Design team members, managing communication with other teams & stakeholders, and facilitating design delivery. You have a deep understanding of Design processes and rituals with a keen ability to define design deliverables with designers.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with Design Manager/Director on project organization, allocations, bandwidth, status tracking, and successful design deliverables

  • Encourage and drive collaboration between product and engineering partners and ensure inter-dependencies are understood and planned for effectively.

  • Identify design team needs with regards to process, tools, documentation, asset management, etc. Implement required changes to ensure designers can be most efficient.

  • Develop and refine metrics that help gauge the happiness and health of the design team.

  • Provide clear communication to cross-functional team leads regarding design status, resource requirements, issues, and priorities.

  • Identify risks, prioritize and collaborate with partners to bring to resolution in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the design teams in all offices are in collaboration with one another and all working toward a consistent design.

  • Identify and remove blockers to enable Product Designers and User Researchers to work productively toward project goals.

  • Maintain documentation and dashboards that allow for quick and efficient understanding of resource capacity and project status.

  • Facilitate design sprint planning, and track the status of active projects.

What to bring:

  • 3+ years experience in running a team in a project management role.

  • Experience in user-centered design process, methodologies, and standards.

  • Ability to work with a distributed global team, facilitating tight communications in spite of time zone differences.

  • Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical partners.

  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering organizations and keeping them updated on design progress.

  • Proactiveness in operational improvements within and outside of your team.

  • Ability to multitask, analyze opportunities, define successful approaches, and tackle problems.

  • Familiarity with design tools and technologies, as well as delivery formats.

  • Working knowledge of project management software and Agile framework.

  • Strong listener: able to deeply understand the team’s needs, ask the right questions to keep a project moving in the right direction, and proactively pursue feedback.

  • Excellent problem solving skills; thrives when working with complexity.

  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
