Job Summary:

The DisneySteaming Web client engineering organization delivers app experiences across Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, and Star+ built on a common platform and shared technology. The Web team is a fast-paced and fast-growing team that shares knowledge and code for initiatives that span Web such as commerce, marketing, media, and infrastructure!

We are seeking individuals with a passion for learning and developing the future of streaming services on the web. As a member of DisneyStreaming’s Web Commerce team you’ll build the core sign-up, purchase, and subscription management experiences of our Web platform.

As a Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to your team’s fundamental software project goals and collaborate with other specialists to deliver new features and bug requirements.


  • Partners with team members, product and engineering partners to deliver new features and fix project issues while developing specifications for assigned components, projects, or fixes. 

  • Writes, performs tests, and debugs code ensuring standards for readability and maintainability. 

  • Contributes to core software project needs and the evolution of the team's practices; recommending changes in development, coding, maintenance and system standards. 

  • Efficiently supports software throughout the lifecycle. Performs technical maintenance and solving for components while maintaining clear documentation.

  • Participates in the code review to gain validated understanding of the fundamental knowledge of software systems.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Basic foundational programming knowledge of web based applications. 

  • Experience working within a modern Javascript workflow.

  • Proven ability to learn, understand, and adapt to new technologies.

  • Self-learner who identifies root causes and drives solutions.

  • Ability to write code that is easy to read and understand that follows standard methodologies.

  • Highly thorough with the ability to clearly detail work.

  • Exhibits emotional intelligence, managing oneself under high pressure/stressful situations and meets urgent timelines. 

  • Optimally collaborates and communicates with team members.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience shipping a large, well-tested production React/Node.js application.
