The right person for this role is proficient in technology and is comfortable with acting as a product owner for a development team. You will need to move and adapt quickly as needs change. You are encouraged to always maintain a pulse on development progress and manage the inevitable change over the lifecycle of a project so that deadlines are met with excellent products and happy team members.

If you are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, jumps at the opportunity to work on impactful and complex problems, and constantly seeks out new challenges, then this is a great role for you!

  • You will work closely with our different Web Engineering teams: Commerce, Player, Content Discovery, Personalization, and more - to plan and coordinate the execution and launch of features that will directly impact the overall developer experience, while simultaneously keeping your team focused on meeting commitments

  • You will be embedded in our Core Services development team, which is responsible for Infrastructure build out, Developer Experience enhancements, and Application Architecture development.

  • You will define the team’s roadmap and will execute against all of the team’s initiatives to ensure features are being delivered on time and with high quality

  • You will work on legacy products as well as managing and planning for future products and will need to drive the balance between building new versus enhancing or maintaining legacy products.

  • Own aspects of product development end to end from concept all the way to launch

  • Work with remote and multi-site teams to deliver related system software components while managing the timelines to match development and launch requirements

  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, and change control

  • Where needed, improve processes for completeness and better efficiency

  • Dive deep into the technical details of a program

  • Proactively solve day-to-day challenges and exercise sound judgment

  • Own execution for upcoming features and products, driving roadmap, specifications, and delivery

  • Scope projects into manageable chunks that enable us to quickly and efficiently release iterative products

  • Own the Scrum/Agile process for Web Engineering scrum teams - including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming

  • Scale impact by identifying top priorities for in-demand subject matter experts, manage backlog and assets that help scale top customer patterns, and accelerate developer success by building trust and sharing cross-organizational best practices

  • Work with multiple engineering teams to track progress for large initiatives related to your projects in a manner easily consumable by all partners

  • Investigate, track and resolve open issues for any given project through clear communication with a wide array of partners

  • Participate in and lead investigations to understand, mitigate, and prevent quality issues

  • Identify inefficiencies in the processes, and drive better, more efficient processes where needed for projects to be delivered optimally and on time.

  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience working at the scale that Disney Streaming has to offer

  • 5+ years of technical program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering) or relevant experience

  • 5+ year of experience with defining projects, collecting requirements, coordinating efforts to scope, and scheduling and deploying new feature sets

  • Firm understanding of systems architecture, design, and implementation

  • Knowledge of AWS, CI/CD, automated testing and development tooling

  • Ability to actively identify dependencies/risks and work with engineering counterparts to mitigate these

  • Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical partners

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, written and verbal
