We are looking for a top-tier Sr Network Operation Engineer to join our team to help deliver these solutions.

Responsibilities of this role would encompass the following areas:

Strategy

  • Contributes to the development of the Network Operations Strategy and into supporting organizational strategies

  • Is accountable for developing and socializing technical solutions and process based strategies

  • Responsible for influencing peer organizations to ensure their plans are in alignment with the technical direction of Network Operations

  • Ensures that all new Network services are crafted to deliver the levels of availability required while validating the final service design meets business needs

Technical Leadership

  • Provides technical leadership during major incidents and strives to quickly resolve them

  • Coaches team members on a proactive basis, raising the team’s overall expertise

  • Works with service provider partners to ensure the accurate level of technical acumen and quality is implemented

  • Acts as an escalation point for Operations Analysts

  • Keeps up to date on industry standard practices within Network Operations

Process

  • Develops and evolves operational procedures, examining & documenting existing processes to evaluate them within the context of availability and maintainability of DDI Services

  • Identifies areas in need of process documentation and works with the teams to build, document, and train the process

  • Builds operational run-books to improve compliance to engineering standards in the Network environment, including the audit of existing configurations for quality and compliance

  • Identifies needs for technical process improvement plans, and partners with leadership to build and socialize plans; manages all or a portion of the execution of the improvement plan

Needed Networking Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years experience supporting Network Operations at an enterprise level, including critical systems in either a large IT shared services organization or telecom service provider environment

  • Strong networking experience including the following:

  • Vendors/Providers: Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto, Open Gear

  • Routing: LAN, WAN, LON, Overlay, Underlay & requisite protocols

  • Switching: VLAN, VXLAN, Nexus, Fabric

  • Wireless: Controller, APs, Monitoring

  • Load Balancers: LTM, GTM

  • DDI - DNS, DHCP & IP Address Management (IPAM), BIND

In Addition:

  • DevOps experience within Python and/or Terraform

  • Experience within cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Experience within operations support including things like incident response, implementation, at times on-call or after hours

  • Outstanding communication skills with a demonstrated ability doing so at multiple levels, including to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related; or requisite work experience

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field of study

  • Network, ITIL V3, and/or other technical certifications

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Technical knowledge/experience including:

  • SDWAN & VXLAN

  • APM, AFM, ASM and/or other modules

  • Radius / TACACS infrastructure experience

  • Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) & Least Privileged Access

  • DNS, DHCP, & IP Management (DDI)

  • Virtual Machines, Operating systems, Software Defined Networks, Orchestration, & Automation

  • TCP/IP protocols, subnet masking

  • Infoblox

The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $102,500 to $137,500 per year and in Seattle is $107,400 to $143,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
