We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join the Global Program Management team who will lead exceptional delivery on large scale programs across Disney Entertainment and ESPN technology organizations. You are skilled at the art of bringing a diverse set of team members and stakeholders together to determine scope, plan the work, monitor and communicate progress, and proactively manage risks, issues and dependencies.

You have a proven track record of collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to establish a strategy and deliver complex technical projects and programs. You are comfortable digging into the technical details and dependencies of each program and are able to rapidly synthesize complex information. You will need to move and adapt quickly as needs change, while keeping the bigger picture in view. You will maintain the pulse of the development progress and handle the inevitable change over the lifecycle of a program so that deadlines are met with great products and happy teams.

Organizing and planning comes instinctively. You build strong relationships and will work in partnership with Product and Engineering to clear obstacles, drive progress, and make sure everyone is informed on status and the critical path. You are a strong communicator, comfortable presenting to and interacting with engineering teams and executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution and delivery of multiple high-profile technical, product or software development projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering, to define program scope, functional and technical requirements, team deliverables, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
  • Partner with QA leads in support of test planning, bug triage, and engineering milestones.
  • Continuously monitor and report on program execution to the teams, program leadership, executive management, and stakeholders in a way that is easily consumable by all.
  • Forecast, manage and pro-actively escalate and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Build strong relationships across engineering, product and stakeholder teams.
  • Interact and drive consensus with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Know when to push back, challenge an idea, and seek out compromise, and do so positively and for the benefit of the program and company.

Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of progressively complex related program/project management experience in a technical setting with 0-3 years management experience
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required
  • Understanding of software development methodolgies including Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban
  • Knowledge and experience with SDLC and system integration projects; experience in consumer facing experiences preferred
  • Knowledge of program management, analysis and reporting tools including JIRA, Confluence, and Airtable
  • Experience with Streaming media technologies is preferred.

Education:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required.

The hiring range for this position in Washington is $156,292.00 to $209,660.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
