Summary
Disney Streaming’s Media Engineering team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for the Playback Services team. As a Senior Technical Program Manager within the Playback Services team, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of technical initiatives that involve multiple domains across playback clients and their upstream services. You will work across organizational boundaries and partner with key individuals from the involved teams to ensure the overall success of your project and larger program. To effectively bring these teams together, you should rely on your strong technical knowledge and relationships to ensure the program is on track and efficiently drive risks to closure. As the point person for some of these larger initiatives, you will be responsible for representing the concerns of teams and should be able to understand and express their areas of involvement and interests to the other organizations within Disney.
Responsibilities
● Own planning, execution, and delivery for a program or high-profile features and products, driving roadmap, specifications, and delivery
● Identify, assess and mitigate risks, provide visibility to management, anticipate and make trade-offs balancing the business needs versus constraints
● Collaborate with product partners to help define/scope feature requirements and work with software architects, technical leads, and product to determine how best to build our engineering solution and meet our overall requirements
● Act as main communication liaison with disparate internal stakeholders and external partners across a variety of timezones and locales
● Dive in and understand the overall architecture and distinct components of a project, applying this knowledge to more effectively plan and deliver your projects
● Continue to improve our program management process, communication protocols, and operational procedures related to effective, on-time and to-scope software delivery
What to Bring
● 7+ years of Technical Project Management experience with 0-3 years of management experience
● BA/BS or equivalent experience required
● Experience in shipping multiple feature or products simultaneously, ideally in an Agile environment
● Ability to dive into technical details, understanding and providing input on overall technical designs
● Ability to breakdown a large and complex project into distinct and incremental deliverables
● Ability to work in a dynamic and geographically dispersed environment
● Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with a clear attention to detail
The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $156,292.00 to $209,660.00 per year, in Santa Monica, CA is $156,292.00 to $209,660.00 per year, and in New York, NY is $156,292.00 to $209,660.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
