With Disney’s growth opportunities and expansion in APAC, this position will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategic growth opportunities for the Publishing & Digital Experiences licensing business. This position will work across franchises such as Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Lucas, National Geographic and collaborate with regional and in-country teams to develop and implement new product opportunities and go-to-market plans to capture whitespace and drive incremental revenue.
Sales-driven energy and Relationships are key to the success of this role, both internally and externally. You will be required to actively manage and cultivate the engagement, partnership, and joint business planning with each account, new and existing, ultimately delivering strategic growth in licensing sales.
FOCUS
Strategy
Develop and implement a strategy for Disney’s Publishing/Digital Experience business with a special focus on digital and learning opportunities.
In alignment with Disney’s consumer, retail, and franchise strategies, identify and leverage storytelling opportunities to drive revenue, engagement, and focus.
Define areas of growth and ‘white space’ opportunities for Disney narratives and develop actionable plans to leverage these opportunities.
Sales
Drive revenue/sales across the key categories with a special focus on digital, developing and presenting the annual business plan, and determining key objectives and priorities.
Identify and develop new business and sales opportunities based on business intelligence/ consumer insight to deliver growth objectives.
Develop consumer priorities (products, consumers, channels) to maximize opportunities.
Collaborate with content development and product strategy teams for the creation of new content (all formats) in order to deliver business goals.
Oversee performance of initiatives through metrics, tracking & tools, effective product management, ongoing product pipeline, and marketing and retail support.
Partner closely with the regional team and leadership and ensure alignment of local strategies and plans with the region’s objectives.
Liaise with local teams and other lines of business, sharing best practices and ensuring overall publishing/digital experiences strategy is executed effectively.
Support the creation of consumer events as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in areas such as sales, account /project management, digital channels/platforms, licensing, and retail with 3+ years of people management experience.
Proven experience in achieving financial targets, and successful projects in the market - building effective relationships, leading and managing change and collaboration across departments.
Strong people management skills; ability to inspire, mentor and develop a highly motivated team.
Strong stakeholder management; experience in navigating a matrixed organization and successfully influencing key stakeholders and a wide range of external partners with diverse requirements.
Good understanding of Licensing business and digital business with brand and property positioning, retail distribution and environment, and licensees' production and creative capabilities/limitations.
Deep understanding of consumers and ability to develop key insights and use data to tell a story and drive decisions.
Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze data and construct practical conclusions and recommendations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
Fluent in both Korean and English.
