Job Summary:

Overall Purpose of the Role
Primary accountability and responsibility for the Controllership and Accounting functions for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) APAC.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Lead a large team, fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture, providing controllership and accounting support to all lines of business across the APAC region
  • Lead and support all financial reporting activities for the TWDC APAC ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting and reporting requirements
  • Ensure TWDC control standards and Sarbanes Oxley requirements are adhered to with appropriate financial controls in place for all relevant financial processes and systems
  • Pursue and support organizational and technology initiatives to achieve wider financial objectives of Enterprise Financial Services, ensuring optimal deployment of resource
  • Partner with APAC leadership (i.e. Heads of Finance, Business & Functional Leaders) to ensure Controllership team is delivering upon customer needs and expectations
  • Partner effectively with Global Shared Services Leadership and provide direction as required to Shared Services teams supporting the APAC region
  • Review, analyze and provide required context to Senior Executives on the financial performance of TWDC APAC and underlying lines of business on an ongoing basis
  • Provide guidance, direction and advice to Senior Executives on all controllership and accounting related matters for TWDC APAC
Areas of Accountability
  • Accountable to International Controller, Financial Reporting & Tax and Heads of Finance, APAC
  • Manage overhead budget of Controllership and Accounting functions
Experience, Professional Qualifications & Skills
  • Qualified accountant (ideally CPA or equivalent) with strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • 12+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • Experience in leading a large and diverse team across multiple locations
  • Both an effective and collaborative communicator who can lead through influence
