Shanghai Disney Resort, the first Disney resort in mainland China, will be a place where friends and families can escape together to a whole new world of fantasy, imagination, creativity, and adventure. On opening day, the resort will be home to the Shanghai Disneyland theme park, two themed hotels – Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel, Disneytown, a large shopping, dining and entertainment venue, a Broadway-style theatre, a Wishing Star Park and other outdoor recreation areas. Shanghai Disneyland will be a Magic Kingdom-style theme park featuring classic Disney storytelling and characters but with authentic cultural touches and themes tailored specifically for the people of China. As we create this magical destination, we’re looking for a variety of world-class professionals including front line Cast Members and an innovative development team to help our plans take shape.


Perform general clerical tasks and manage process and paperwork flow. Exhibit proficiency in all systems and processes related to merchandising from SKU set up through sample processing to purchase order management. Communicate and follow up with internal and external partners and coordinate the flow of correspondence and information. Have experience training or mentoring in related field. Manage the operations and technical functions of merchandising as it pertains to the execution of product for retail sales at Disney Theme Park Resorts Merchandise to maximize productivity and efficiencies. Desire to grow within a merchandising organization/career path.

Basic Qualifications

Sample Coordination
  • Manage coordination of samples (receiving and shipping)
  • Organize sample closets and rooms.
  • Coordinate samples being sent to system for approval -
  • Take digital photos as required for merchandising functions (market samples, sharepoint uploads, etc.)
  • Track Sample Budget

  • Communicate creative approvals/comments to vendor as needed
  • Coordinate vendor sales information and forward to vendors
  • Contact vendors for sample/information

  • Support system needs such as print art, status changes, input creative briefs for vendor art and compile reports
  • Input art comments

SKU Creation
  • Assist with Spec Sheet/BOM updates as needed
  • Assist with maintenance of development worksheets as needed
  • Initiate SKU set up process in partnership with appropriate parties

  • Check email boxes daily for purchase order changes
  • Administer appropriate paperwork for payment requests/PO’s for payment of outside services and fees, liabilities, etc.
  • Key all non-warehouse controlled price changes
  • Prepare catalog of merchandise by season
  • Help to manage and update line sheets.

  • Assist and set up for meetings (i.e. line reviews, IDI, etc.)
  • Attend team meetings and touch bases as appropriate
  • Participate in fit sessions as needed

General Support
  • Make color copies
  • Print and mail out tickets as needed
  • Maintain TC/Pantone card needs
  • Coordinate lab dip and fabric punch process as needed
  • Book conference rooms
  • Assist with product knowledge sessions and implementation sessions
Set up tabs/files and assist with approval/development filing

  • Payment requests
  • Spec sheets/ as required by Merchandise leader
  • Line lists/sheets
  • SKU set up sheets/IR worksheets/PRRs
  • Development worksheet
  • Merchandise clearance
  • Music clearance
  • Sample approval
  • Artwork requests
  • HTS number for import items

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree and/or equivalent
  • Proven retail, product development or related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with typing and strong computer technology skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong partnering and working relationship skills
  • Demonstrated positive attitude with the ability to be responsive to feedback
  • Demonstrated initiative skills in the work place
  • Proven ability to work with more than one leader
  • Ability to work as part of a high performance team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and process
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint
