Assistant Manager/Manager - Finance

Reporting into the Malaysia & Singapore Head of Finance this person will closely partner the Malaysia & Singapore DCP business teams to deliver operating and profitability goals for the market.

Primary areas of focus are :
  • Financial planning and reporting
  • Business partnering and commercial analysis
  • Controls and compliance


(A) Lead the financial planning and reporting processes
  • Lead 5 Year Plan, annual budget & Quarterly Forecast P&Ls, Quarterly & Year end Close reports, working closely with the category teams
  • Inputting & ensuring completeness of sales forecast and budget in Invision
  • Provide and communicate timely, relevant, and precise information to key stakeholders, including Local management and SEA regional finance team
(B) Closing Activities
  • Analyse performance (tracking revenue & expenses regularly) and provide variance explanations and recommendations for operations.
  • Close monitoring and analysis of the marketing and retail spends
  • Prepare all monthly and quarterly reports & schedules required for submission to Regional and other teams
  • Assist in other month end, quarter end and year end closing tasks as required
  • Act as primary liaison with regional team, CARR team and ASC team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information
(C ) Business Partnering
  • Perform deal evaluation and be involved in deal discussion to support management decision on sales negotiation and play an integral part in negotiations where appropriate.
  • Maintain regular communication with DCP Leads and Category team to understand country specific issues and be involved in deal negotiation
(D) Contract Management
  • Review Licensing deal terms with performance analyses, compliance with Contract policies and approval in Selectica
  • Support Category team on justifications for any exceptions to Contract policies
  • Work with Credit team on credit assessment including providing analyses on payment history
  • Overseeing Contract admin function on Contract related issues and managing the Contract Administration Process including timeliness of contract execution and improvement of royalty statement collection
  • Accounts Receivable Management including improving Collection processes, adoption of GetPaid systems, ensuring no ARs > 60 days old
(E) Controls and Compliance
  • Controls and compliance lead for the market
  • Assist the auditor for the internal licensee and external financial audits
  • Review licensing deals to ensure compliance with Corporate and DCP contract Policies
  • Working closely with the regional Compliance officer, ensure all the relevant policies are rolled out and complied with by licensees
  • Partner with Category team to ensure the ILS process is closely and effectively managed
  • Ensure compliance with all the local statutory requirements and provide alerts to regional office on changes to regulations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 6 to 8 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting, with at least 2 years in supervisory level
  • Fluency in English
  • Proficiency with computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
