Director, Content Operations

Job Summary:

Manage Content Operations team to effectively fulfill all aspects of media mastering and preparation work in accordance with the defined requirements and standards mandated by both the Disney and FNG businesses for linear and nonlinear services across the Asia Pacific regions

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, direct and manage all aspects of content related operational work including; management of program localization, broadcast and digital distribution of processing work from internal and external perspectives
  • Take a leading role in defining requirements for technical initiatives based on the required workflow, and work with other departments to implement new systems to enhance and streamline workflows
  • Build and develop the teams to perform to the highest standard by proving proactive direction and leadership
  • Manage and track budget and contracts, and maintain the business relationship with external vendors and outsourced companies


Basic Qualifications:

  • Work with the business stakeholders such as Programming and Content Sales, and Media Services to understand their business and operational needs to assure all aspects of media mastering are performed in accordance with the defined requirements and standards
  • Coordinate with Programming to specify the presentation requirement and supervise all aspects of mastering work to the Content Operation team
  • Make sure that the operational process and practices are implemented based on the above requirements
  • Build, develop and lead a team in the day to day function of content preparation for broadcasting and digital deliveries
  • Deliver workflows and cost efficiencies, by leveraging shared systems, technology and process
  • Manage key third party service providers, negotiating costs, service levels and technology solutions to deliver high quality, cost effective, on time content delivery
  • Manage and track budget, and manage contracts and business relationship with extra vendors and outsourced companies
  • Manage the team, creating an effective structure and providing clear objective setting and development opportunities by overseeing performance monitoring, annual appraisals, training and project delegation
  • Maintain a strong awareness of industry technology developments in both content delivery and platform evolution
  • Proactively manage and define workflow requirements for new initiatives to meet new broadcast operational service requirements
  • Track details of all the operational problem, investigate and provide solutions
  • Ensure that documentation of all aspects of standard operational procedures is kept and up to dated, and continue review to improve standard operating procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University graduate, preferably in media studies or production
  • 7+ years of experience working in a television or media company
  • Has demonstrable experience of leading and motivating large teams, to deliver high quality performance
  • Effective oral and written English skill
  • Able to lead a change management initiative
  • Able to manage budget and achieving financial targets
  • Excellent communicator and able to build team works and relationships
  • Have passion for working in the media industry
  • Self-motivated, team player and positive attitude towards work
  • Able to prioritize effectively & adopt flexible approach to different tasks
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
