In view of Southeast Asia’s growth, we are now seeking a Manager, Softlines to support the development of strategies across apparel, accessories, footwear and home furnishings. It will be the category manager’s role to work with both the regional category and the local market teams to build and implement these strategies to ensure the delivery of long term sustainable growth in the region.


  • Support the development and implementation of the strategic plan goals for each country, category & franchise
  • Day-to-day management of licensee base (Regional and Global )
  • Ensure joint business planning is in place with key licensees, review performance regularly and strive to seek ways to improve overall performance
  • Identify innovative product, category and franchise strategies to drive accelerated growth
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, threats and dynamics
  • Manage relationships with existing licensees, and identify new partners to continually strengthen licensee base
  • Partner with Retail team to grow the business through key retail accounts
  • Build strong relationships with other key business units, global/regional partners and local offices in order to maximize synergy opportunities across The Walt Disney Company
  • Work with product development teams; ensure delivery of compelling product offer to consumer
  • Perform any and all other duties, as may from time to time be assigned from Director, Category

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree level educated in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • A background in marketing, consumer products or retail, ideally within a relevant category
  • Brand management expertise is essential
  • Licensee management experience is ideally required
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders
  • An organized individual with experience of being able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem solving skills and a creative outlook
  • Must be able to collaborate, influence and persuade at all levels.
  • Strong partnership and relationship building skills.
  • Able to work well as part of a team as well as able use initiative and work autonomously.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Computer literate including the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Apple Keynote would be useful.
  • Able to analyse data and construct practical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Fluent English is essential; other languages are not essential, but useful.
