Senior Finance Analyst

In view of Southeast Asia’s growth, we are now looking for a Senior Finance Analyst, to partner closely with our Finance Director, you will be responsible for the financial support to Media Distribution (DMD/Channels) for South East Asia. You will support all commercial, financial planning and finance operations relating to the business. Primary areas of focus are analysis of actual results, forecasting and planning, data extraction and upload, management reporting and title ultimate analysis. You will also act as a liaison on key business issues and providing instrumental support in the wider area of Business Operations.

Responsibilities

Key elements and required results of the role:-
Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Support Finance Manager and Finance Director throughout Budget & Quarterly Forecast submission for DMD.
  • Support 5 Year Plan presentation and submission processes
  • Liaise with DMD/OTT team and other functional teams to gather and validate all aspects of revenue and cost information in order to develop both Revenue and Operating Income picture of business performance.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed revenue forecast files by client, by title, and roll forward each quarter with updated actuals data.
  • Act as the SEA expert for DMD systems, including uploading of forecast and extraction of actuals.
  • Provide and communicate timely and relevant information to key stakeholders.
  • Act as liaison with Global Accounting/Finance team and in country SEA Finance teams providing guidance and training, consolidating results and sharing relevant information.

Management Reporting
  • Act as key liaison for finance matters related to DMD and Studio In-Home Entertainment; respond to various requests from other geographies, business units and accounting teams on finance matters
  • Support the Finance Manager in reviewing and communicating DMD and Studio In-Home Entertainment businesses’ financials to business leads for review.
  • Review actual costs, revenues and operating income versus forecast and budget and proactively communicate required changes to accounting team and budget stakeholders

Business Analytics On Business Deals
  • Provide support to DMD/Channel team on deal negotiation and sales initiatives, with key focus on Operating Income with the view to optimise deal profitability.
  • Provide commentary and business insights with analytics on deal or title performance to support business decision.

Ultimate Reporting
  • Liaise SEA Studio team and Media Distribution team and manage reporting for Studio Ultimate submission.
  • Responsible for communicating with US teams on all updates and revisions to title ultimates projections.

Accounting & Financial Closing
  • Ensure compliance of US GAAP for financial closing and support timely submission of closing deliverables to WDI SEA and DMD Finance in Burbank.
  • Work closely with Media Distribution team, SEA Legal team and Global Digital Media Accounting Team on revenue recognition process at quarter-end.
  • Ensure accuracy of journal entries and financial closing reports prepared by the Senior Finance Analyst.
  • Act as primary liaison with Global Accounting/Finance team for Media, Studio International Finance team and WDI SEA Finance team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.

Ad-hoc Project Management
  • Preparation of presentations for senior management
  • Assistance in development, implementation and testing of new systems or reporting tools and other process improvement initiatives.
  • Support Program Sales Team, Senior Management and other divisions in ad-hoc projects, to ensure they are in line with corporate objectives
  • Support external and internal audit
  • Support audit in clients

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited university and/or qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in Finance with at least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, planning and reporting. Prior working experience with a major MNC or/and in media industry will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical/project skills, capable of managing an array of initiatives
  • Collaborative/ team-oriented
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to quickly learn and utilize financial systems and business tools for data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills
  • Can-do attitude, driven and passionate about work
  • Must be able to take data and provide “so what” analysis
  • Systems and process focused
  • Highly proficient in Excel (modelling, analysis, data management)
  • SAP R3, Cognos and TM1 hands-on experience
  • Proficient in PowerPoint
