Job Summary:

With Disney’s growth opportunities and expansion in APAC, this position will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategic growth opportunities for the Consumer Products, Games and Publishing organization (CPGP). This position will work across Disney, Marvel, Lucas, NatGeo and 20th Century franchises, across categories (hardlines, softlines, consumables, publishing, games), and regional and in-country teams, to develop and implement new product opportunities and go-to-market plans to capture whitespace and drive incremental revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead category growth within categories such as Toys, Home and Infant and Preschool, through strategies including: flexible business models, product innovation, and partner optimization
  • Create consumer-focused go-to-market strategies for new product and business model opportunities including consumer research, branding, product strategy, price positioning, supply chain, marketing, content, and retail programs, in partnership with functional teams
  • Launch and manage on-going product lifecycle including SKU strategy and operations (e.g. inventory tracking, reporting and performance analytics)
  • Directly responsible for delivering revenue on product lines and/or categories managed
  • Collaborate with and manage multiple global and regional stakeholders and their input
  • Work closely with Strategy & Business Planning team to find new ways to distribute and manufacture products
  • Lead collaboration with Global Product Creation team on product and assortment strategy, and with Sourcing on manufacturer selection based on product strategy
  • Develop marketing briefs to support product strategy and partner with marketing teams to create consumer marketing, content and retail programs to support new initiatives.
  • Drive conversion through effective retail brand development strategies and tactics working with in-market commercial teams, distributors and retailers
  • Oversee performance of initiatives through metrics, tracking & tools, effective product management, on-going product pipeline, and marketing and retail support
  • Leverage a deep understanding of each of the markets within APAC, and stay on top of consumer and retail trends, and competitive environment, and adjust product strategies to ensure we meet the changing landscape
  • Create and present compelling, persuasive presentation materials to communicate key learnings and recommendations to senior level executives

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years experience in retail/product strategy, and/or consumer goods product management (toys, apparel, home entertainment, etc.)
  • Experience working in/knowledge of vertical businesses 
  • Experience leading teams and products within one or more of APAC regions, a plus
  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as Japanese or Chinese is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA a plus
  • Ability to lead teams and collaborate in highly matrixed environment
  • Manage executive-level and peer stakeholders to achieve alignment and drive programs forward
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and product management skills 
  • Ability to think pragmatically and operationally to drive execution of concepts
  • Outstanding multi-tasking and teamwork capabilities along with efficient project management skills
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Deep understanding of consumers and ability to develop key insights and use data to tell a story and drive decisions
  • P&L management
  • Drives results fast / executes with sense of urgency and accuracy 
  • Enthusiastic collaborator and team player with a positive attitude
  • Knows how or where to obtain information; is resourceful
  • Strong attention to detail; organized and manages timelines effectively
  • Keynote, Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency
