Job Summary:

The role of the Corporate Communications & CSR Manager in Bulgaria and the Balkans is to work with the CEE Corporate Comms, Publicity and CSR Director to deliver effective communications both externally and internally as well as manage all social responsibility and charity campaigns and activities in the market. 

The Corp Comms & CSR Manager will help develop and manage implementation of Corporate Communication strategic campaigns designed to deliver standout coverage, and will handle all day to day corporate media relations activities to ensure Disney is represented across all key media sectors. The scope of responsibilities will also involve crisis management and close support of the Balkan leadership team. Additionally, the Manager will support and, where/when necessary, conduct internal communications to the Balkan team in close cooperation with the CEE internal comms team. 

The role also requires developing and managing CSR and charitable activities in line with EMEA and CEE CSR strategy and in close cooperation with CEE CSR team.

This role is a maternity cover, and it will require you to be onsite 4 days a week.

Areas of Responsibility

Corporate Communications 

  • Take on a role of a gatekeeper for all business and corporate local. announcements, including leadership interviews and media engagement opportunities.

  • Devise creative story angles, identify corporate / business story themes and proactively seek out opportunities to deliver stand-out coverage. 

  • Issue and follow-up all key releases.  

  • Day-to-day crisis comms and issues management in close cooperation with CEE Corporate Comms Director. 

  • Handle press enquiries and build/maintain excellent relationships with key business, consumer and trade media outlets as well as online.  

  • Work in partnership with LOBs Comms teams. 

  • Where necessary work directly or through influencer agencies with influencers to deliver best-in-class initiatives in support of Disney and its brands. 

  • Explore external D&I comms opportunities.  

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive media database.  

  • Monitor media interest and corporate stories regarding Disney, Disney’s competition and overall business related topics. 

 

Internal Communications 

  • Help deliver the best in class internal communications across CEE with the focus on Bulgaria and the Balkans 

  • Work closely with the CEE internal comms team to devise stories and initiatives for CEE’s Inside Disney as well as standalone internal initiatives (including, but not limited to Xmas, Women’s Week) 

  • Work closely with the Balkan leadership team and HR on communication with Bulgaria and Balkan Cast Members 

  • Help deliver CEE Town Halls and other internal events. 

  • Support with CEE/local initiatives and plans such as return to office, Covid-19 etc. 

  • Support with embedding D&I across CEE and in particular Bulgaria and the Balkans and help drive meaningful progress across 4 pillars: Transparency, Culture, Representation and Marketplace.  

  • Deliver corporate clippings reports, including Quarterly Earnings, investor calls as well as local PR summaries and reports. 

 

CSR & Charity  

  • Help implement and manage CEE CSR strategy.  

  • Manage regional and local CSR initiatives and projects across the Balkans. 

  • Build and maintain outstanding relationships with NGOs and non for profit local organisations that Disney would partner with on different initiatives. 

  • Prepare all necessary documents and information for vetting Disney’s non for profit partners. 

  • Report all CSR and charity initiatives into Disney’s reporting systems such as Hei Hei, Cybergrants etc. 

  • Introduce and run Disney VoluntEARs programme in Bulgaria and the Balkans. 

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • Graduate with the ability to communicate and work in English (verbal / written). 

  • PR experience (ideally 5-7 years) preferably entertainment / media industry based. 

  • CSR experience (ideally 2-4 years) with a genuine interest in social responsibility and non for profit activities. 

  • Agency experience is preferred but not essential. 

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of communications’ campaigns. 

  • Good knowledge of the Balkan media landscape. 

  • Good understanding of local NGO and non for profit landscape. 

  • Strong media contacts across corporate, business, consumer and trade media.������ 

  • Ability to deal with people at all levels inside and outside TWDC. 

  • International experience useful but not essential. 

Skills Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bulgarian and English. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and be flexible to changing deadlines and timelines.  

  • Ability to drive projects from start to finish while managing multiple assignments. 

  • Proactive with the ability to seek out opportunities to promote Disney in the media. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate effectively at all levels with internal stakeholders, media and other parties.
