Job Summary:

As a member of the ANZ Media Finance team, this role will provide specialist advice, sound financial planning and commercial analysis to the Senior Finance & Accounting Manager, which has responsibility for all channels (Disney, ESPN, National Geographic) in ANZ.

The role will have responsibility for reporting of financial plans and strategic analysis of ESPN channels and ad sales in ANZ.

​-This is a 6 month contract

Responsibilities:

Ad Sales Analysis & Forecast
  • Track ad sales actual performance versus budget, provide detailed reporting on sales & pipeline to Senior Finance & Accounting Manager & business leads
  • Liaise with US based Finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and attribution of global ad sales deals
  • Calculation of revenue for commissions planning, completion of commissions submissions
Budgeting & Long-term Planning
  • Forecasting, planning, analysing, presenting and uploading the ESPN channels business in the region in accordance with TWDC planning cycle, i.e., 5 Year Plan (5YP) and annual operating plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts
    Support the Senior Finance & Accounting Manager, to develop revenue forecasts for the business and discuss with key stakeholders
  • Gather and validate all cost information in order to develop an overview of business performance for Australia / New Zealand
  • Compete submissions to key stakeholders in the APAC and locally and clearly communicate the performance and direction of the business, identifying key sensitivities
  • Provide timely, relevant, and accurate information to budget stakeholders
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Review and analyse revenues and costs versus forecast, providing commentary and insights where relevant
  • Liaise with budget stakeholders (Editorial, Marketing, Product, Sales etc.) to agree planned expenditure
  • Review actual expenditure against plan and proactively communicate required changes to accounting teams and budget stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison with APAC Channels team and WDI Finance teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information
Ad Hoc Projects
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efforts for departmental projects/initiatives
  • Assistance in development, implementation and testing of new IT systems and improvements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role 
  • Media / TV experience is preferable
