JOB DESCRIPTION

The Woodlands Networks Center in The Woodlands TX is searching for a Facilities Technician to join their team. The facility technician, under direction of the Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the 24/7 maintenance/operation needs of the Woodlands facility are met. Duties include participating in facility preventive maintenance program; maintaining in-house HVAC and electrical systems; controlling and monitoring BMS (Building Management System); installing electrical wiring and equipment, trouble -shooting/repairing electrical equipment, monitoring vendor provided services, performing minor building maintenance as approved by Facilities Manager; and performing general facility cleanup not covered under vendor maintenance plans. Other duties may include but are not limited to assistance with shipping and receiving, general facility services and maintaining the COGZ data base used to plan, coordinate and document our preventative maintenance program.

Advanced technicians will also be supporting site modification projects, installation of new equipment, office modifications, telephone system administration, operations and associated wiring changes. They are also assigned the task to make as built drawings of the electrical and telephone systems plus site floor plans as needed by the projects they are assigned. Procurement of equipment/supplies and the reconciliation of associated costs of day to day purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in facility preventive maintenance coordination, planning and documentation
  • Operates/maintains internal HVAC systems, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, and controls and monitors building management system
  • Installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment and support shipping and receiving
  • Provides minor building maintenance and cleanup activities
  • Maintains and tracks inventory of general supplies
  • Monitors vendors as work is performed by external contractors or vendors
  • Assist with general facility services including conference room and office furniture setup and event support for Human Resources.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalency
  • 1 or more years of experience in facilities maintenance is necessary - preferably in a commercial environment
  • AutoCAD training, Journeyman electrician’s license, BOMA training/certificates desirable

  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work within a diverse workforce is necessary
  • Strong project coordination and follow-through skills are required
  • Knowledge of building maintenance procedures is a must
  • Capability to work at heights from a man-lift ranging up to 40’-50’ is a requirement
  • Ability to perform overtime as requested
