Responsibilities:

  • Manage an established work-order dispatch system and oversee staff job duties and responsibilities include weekly facility inspections, as well as performing maintenance, repairs, and general carpentry to help ensure The Woodlands Network facility is well maintained, operational, and safe. This may include minor lighting work, mechanical repairs, painting, fleet maintenance and other machinery operation.
  • Manage multiple priorities or projects at one time while working effectively in a team environment
  • Create and drive change and effectively communicate to all levels in the organization
  • Manage the maintenance activities on the electrical and mechanical systems to ensure system uptime, and the services comply with best practices.
  • Assist the Director of Facilities with the assignment and coordination of day-to-day tasks.
  • Develop and manage yearly budgets with Director of Facilities. Review all proposals for work to ensure accuracy in the budget and consistency with our regular scopes of work.
  • Lead a group of staff Electricians, HVAC Techs, Facilities Operation Techs and/or third-party contractors as part of a defined project team.
  • Enhance facilities services and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Achieve MEP maintenance operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems; determining system improvements and implementing change.
  • Establish a schedule for maintenance on equipment, track repairs and schedule third-party repair work when necessary.
  • Ensure MEP systems operate effectively with priority status on technical production facilities, technical equipment rooms.
  • Analyze and recommends proper course of action in problems associated with all MEP equipment, and DDC building management systems. On occasion will be required to respond via phone to after hours and weekend trouble calls. Coordinates on-call third-party service vendors’ response.
  • Ability to engage employees at all levels of the organization
  • Manage preventative maintenance at The Woodlands facility pertaining to building facilities, including electrical, mechanical, telephone, copier, fax and printers, janitorial and waste removal and maintenance of grounds.
  • Assist ESPN Construction and Space Planning teams with various project coordination efforts when necessary, such as meeting support needs, conference room A/V needs, small and large scale construction projects, and facilities occupancy stacking plans.
  • Assist departmental managers to support physical office requirements, including relocation and setup of furniture and other office equipment

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience under a licensed electrical or mechanical contractor in the State of TX.
  • 10 years of experience with all aspects of MEP distribution systems including electrical distribution equipment, generators, UPS equipment, medium voltage switchgear, air handling, fluid handling, boilers, DDC control systems and Central Plant Chilled Water systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associates Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent Technical school degree in electrical or mechanical vocational field.
  • Hold a current State of TX type Journeyman Electrical License or Class A Air Conditioning & Refrigeration License
  • 5 years in people and project management with emphasis on goal oriented performance based initiatives and directing teams
  • Hands-on experience with high reliability mission-critical electrical distribution equipment is required
  • Experience with Russelectric Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems is a plus
  • Experience with DDC Building Management Systems is a plus
  • Experience in managing day to day upkeep of building facilities
  • Certified Level III Thermography
  • Working knowledge of physical plant safety programs and shall be able to demonstrate understanding of fire life safety procedures and requirements
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD are a plus.

The Woodlands Network Center is a 24/7/365 facility. The incumbent must have the ability to work the overnight shift, weekends and holidays.
