JOB DESCRIPTION

The Woodlands Network Center is seeking a Network Operations Assistant. The Assistant position converts text information schedules into operations schedules by researching and refining information from several different documents. Day to day responsibilities include the creation and maintenance of broadcast operations schedules in the ScheduAll software system.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with Program Managers and their staff (Media Services, Transmission Services, Network Management and Master Control) in order to compile and input program origination schedules.
  • Gather applicable information from program distribution grids to determine the actual networks riding distribution networks and other regional outlets.
  • Ensure standardization of program titles and episodes and verifying the accuracy of the information while meeting daily deadlines.
  • Input alternate master control allocations, switching information, closed captioning and daily program change information. 
  • Assist with quality control to ensure the correct shows are closed captioned and no revenue is lost.
  • Provide assistance in resolving issues between national and regional programming.
  • Track departmental information regarding programming and changes for individual networks to identify and determine trends.
  • Utilize applications to provide additional program information for tracking, reconciliation and receiving programs electronically.

Qualification:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • A minimum of 1  year of related work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Good organizational and project coordination skills are necessary. Basic knowledge of sports and cable television is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • A proven ability to multitask and perform well under strict deadlines is required.
  • The ability to work flexible hours is needed.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or comparable experience.
