How you will contribute to our magical experience?
The Programming Coordinator plans and organizes content on ESPN's internal platforms for linear channels and digital platforms across various ESPN channels in the Latin North region (Mexico, Central America, and the Dominican Republic). Additionally, they provide support for various assignments related to specific sports in this region, as well as in Latin South, the Caribbean, Brazil, and the Pacific Rim. The coordinator will report to a Manager or Supervisor within the Programming Department, offering support in short, medium, and long-term content planning, creating guidelines and conditions for live events, developing PowerPoint presentations, and daily updating of the previous day's content. All of this takes place in a dynamic environment that requires teamwork and active participation to achieve the goals of the Programming Department. The position is expected to be based in Mexico City to facilitate immediate communication with local teams and direct monitoring of content on our channels, as well as competition. The role is part of the team based in Bristol, CT. The position provides an opportunity to learn about the sports media industry, planning strategies, direct contact with various local and international sports leagues and organizations, and collaboration with other departments directly involved with our on-air content.
The Programming Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Add long-term and short-term programming and content to ESPN's internal platforms for the linear channels and digital platforms of ESPN International channels.
- Maintain detailed and accurate lineups for Mexico, Central America, and the Dominican Republic.
- Make and distribute necessary daily changes across various ESPN International channels/platforms.
- Determine Standby and Guides and Conditions for live on-air content and assess how they may impact established plans.
- Work directly with various studio show productions to optimize the offered content.
- Maintain constant communication with Fiber teams in Mexico and Content Planning, InfoHub, and Transmissions teams in Buenos Aires.
- Have specific sports assignments to be determined later and collaborate directly in the planning, production, and scheduling of such content with the corresponding Manager/Supervisor.
What we need from you be part of this story:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experienced in using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Advanced level of English is a must; Portuguese is optional.
- Detail oriented individual
- Must know how to work under pressure.
- Thorough knowledge of ESPN’s linear networks and Star+ sport’s offering
- High organizational skills and information retention is preferable.
