- Accountable for the overall operational planning and implementation of Japan and Korea risk reduction standards and procedures.
- Identifies significant security risks, designs and implements programs to safeguard employees and lines of business, as well as prevent and reduce loss to the company’s assets.
- Implements policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for the protection of employees, intellectual property, product, operations and facilities from unauthorized disclosure, counterfeiting, piracy, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, threat, emergencies and incidents, information loss, sabotage or financial loss.
- Leads efforts in the identification of trends or patterns of existent, suspected or potential loss of corporate assets.
- Identify and analyze loss indicators for company assets and businesses, and develop appropriate, cost effective recommendations; develop methods and procedures for consistency and compliance with established security standards; participates in regional audits and self-assessments.
- Develops and leads resource networks in support of all or some of: regional risk assessments, investigations, intelligence, security systems architecture/design and other programs and services evaluated as enhancements to the security function.
- Coordinate physical security (security services, access control and CCTV systems, site surveys), protective services and travel safety programs. You may also supervise employees and contractors performing specific security and safety objectives and monitor vendor performance and expenses.
- Researches and deploys state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the company’s employees, core business, information, and reputation.
- Works with the Vice President on the approach, deployment, and execution of security investigations across the region.
- Briefs Line of Business management and operations teams on status of security issues re impact and agrees on plans and tactics, along with the Vice President, to mitigate.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with local law enforcement and government agencies, appropriate foreign national agencies and private sector counterparts.
- Implements and executes the regions security business plan within budget.
- Coordinates and works with the Vice President as well as Global Security Department’s Threat Assessment and Crisis Management group on the communications and response process for rapid deployment of information and resources in the event of emergencies and/or security related activity in the region.
- Assists with development and implementation of security education and awareness programs within the region.

- External – Government Agencies/Departments including but not limited to: Law enforcement, Fire Department, Embassy, security vendors and consultants; other external entities deemed appropriate. Experience:
- 15 years working in an international company, 3 years as functional head.

Knowledge and Core Skills:
- This position requires a high degree of sound, independent judgment and capability. The incumbent will provide leading, professional and innovative, world class security solutions to unique, spontaneous and business critical issues that influence the security of employees, as well as the protection on The Walt Disney Company’s product, reputation, intellectual property and facilities.
- The candidate will have experience in assisting or leading/managing, complex security issues confronting multi-national organizations in Japan and Korea.
- 5-plus years of management experience in corporate security demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and accountability within an international corporate environment, ideally with a background in the security management, customs, law enforcement and/or information security sectors.
- Proven ability to work with, influence, manage, and/or lead others in a complex and diverse work environment.
- Expert knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies, and ability to communicate those to LOB’s and personnel to mitigate security issues.
- Experience in information safeguarding, educational security and/or retail loss prevention an advantage.
- Experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, and Incident Management Systems.
- Demonstrated research, analytical and reasoning skills necessary for the collection of data and production of security business cases and metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to project manage programs.
- Demonstrated technical depth and breadth of knowledge of security management concepts especially physical security, information protection and crisis management/emergency preparedness.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk assessment techniques.
- Highly ethical and professional, with demonstrated ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully with an international multi-vendor/consultant network.
- Demonstrated presentation skills to business operations and management.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, well considered decisions in stressful situations.
- Demonstrated positive behaviors and attitudes in seeking solutions and outcomes for the Global Security Department and business partners.
- Ability to speak and write English and Japanese. Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent. Graduate degree an advantage. - Professional Qualifications – a certification in a security, safety, fire protection, customs, information security and/or first aid area required;
- International certification such as Certified Protection Professional, Certified Fraud Examiner and/or Information Security Management Systems, an advantage - Operates and manages Disney’s security function for TWDC Japan and Korea under the Vice President’s guidance.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the regions daily operational with minimal supervision and tactical security planning initiatives to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure to liability that may result in financial loss to the company.
- The expectations of this position include leading meetings independently with partners internally and externally to ensure complete partnership and a coordinated and effective security program is successfully executed across the region.
- Identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop best in class programs that drive sustainable effectiveness
