Walt Disney Animation Studios currently has exciting opportunities for Assistant Technical Directors (ATDs) to join the team at our Vancouver, BC studio. This is a 1 year contract position.
Hybrid and Remote opportunities for our Vancouver Studio are specific to remote work within the province of British Columbia.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide general production support to Digital Artists
Scripting for tools and processes
Act as a collaborator with the larger Technical Director team and other Digital Artists
Work with a variety of custom and industry-standard software packages in support of the production pipeline
View production systems holistically and visualize the larger pipeline while understanding the impact of their actions
Involvement in the positive representation of Walt Disney Animation Studios in the larger filmmaking and computer graphics community
Identify issues and opportunities for optimization within production data
Provide process and pipeline training to the larger studio
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Art, other related field or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with Linux or Unix
Python or C/C++
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience in CG animation, visual effects or video game production environment preferred
Familiarity with a variety of commercial graphics applications such as Maya, Nuke, Houdini or GI renderers such as VRay or Arnold
Experience with UI/UX is a plus
