Job Summary:



ABC is looking for a reporter/producer to join a team covering the federal government's handling of topics such as immigration, health, education, the environment and housing. We are looking for someone with extremely strong writing and editorial skills and a proven track record of reporting exclusive stories with nationwide appeal. The candidate must have at least three years experience in a news environment writing weekly or daily stories. Preference will be given to candidates already covering a federal agency in Washington and who have demonstrated the ability to cultivate and maintain sources.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years journalism experience in a news environment is required.
  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment.
  • Writing and reporting experience on a daily or weekly basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience covering a federal agency in Washington.
  • Demonstrated ability to cover a complicated topic like health care or immigration in-depth for a broader audience.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
