- Lead the cartographic team in the conceptualization and creation of mapping for all platforms, including print, digital, and mobile, as well as intracompany needs
- Participate as Director in review and approval of all Cartographic and Graphic content
- Conceptualize and execute editorial mapping for all platforms
- Recruit diverse new cartographic talent on staff and freelancers
- Assign and schedule stories
- Lead and participate in content reviews
- Participate in story idea generation
- Represent cartography in key meetings
- Review and set standards for LLE partners mapping content
- Participate in NG Map Policy Committee and Sub Committee
- Mentor, train and support cartography staff and other teams on best practices for cartography
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the cartographic field and/or data visualization, preferably in an editorial setting (i.e. making maps themselves, working on digital databases, etc.)
