JOB DESCRIPTION

National Geographic Partners (NGP) is seeking a Financial Analyst for its financial planning team.  The team is responsible for FP&A for all NGP businesses, including: global cable networks, magazines, digital products, travel, consumer products, and live events.  The Analyst will work closely with colleagues in NGP finance, as well as across multiple divisions of Disney.  This work will include, but will not be limited to consolidating NGP forecast and budget numbers; identifying key drivers of business performance; and assisting in reporting to upper management.  The analyst will also be expected to spend time developing their knowledge of the media industry, as well as of the businesses housed under NGP and Disney. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in FP&A for corporate overhead costs, helping to maintain a dynamic model and reporting monthly to budget managers.
  • Collaborate with members of other NGP and Disney finance teams to align forecasting and budgeting processes, consolidate numbers and assist in variance analysis.
  • Assist in management reporting – including creation of presentations for audiences including Disney management, NGP senior management, and the NGP Board of Directors.
  • Assist in ad hoc analyses and creation of strategy decks for the CFO and NGP upper management.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or related fields.
  • Advanced Excel User.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Ability to evaluate quantitative data and present information in a concise, coherent manner.
  • Experience with financial systems such as Workday and SAP is a plus.
