National Geographic Partners is currently seeking a Senior Finance Manager to support National Geographic Media’s Business Operations team. Acting as the primary Finance and Planning partner to core business teams responsible for Magazines and Digital product areas, responsibilities will include standard financial modeling and analysis, annual/quarterly budgeting, financial reporting to the Business Operations teams, and ad hoc analysis. This position requires adaptability and flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business and timing of deliverables, problem-solving capabilities, and able to work with minimal supervision. As a key member of the FP&A team, the Senior Manager will provide financial guidance to the business operations teams to reach both strategic and financial objectives.


  • Act as key Finance liaison for NG Media’s business operations teams, which include Digital Publishing Operations, International Licensing, and Marketing. Collaborate with business leads to understand drivers of operations; prepare/maintain financial reporting and analytics to aid business decisions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting & long-range planning within the guidelines set by senior management. Maintain appropriate tools for achieving these tasks, and ensure information is accurately entered in financial system.
  • Review monthly and quarterly financial results, preparing variance analysis and metrics required for internal management reporting. Assist Finance Director in preparation of board meeting and quarterly business review decks and other presentations required by senior management.
  • Work with Accounting to ensure transactions are properly coded in the GL. Track project costs and capital expenditures in accordance with Company policy and ensure that project setups meet the reporting needs of business operations. Develop and improve processes and tools to successfully perform role in supporting both the Digital business and Finance team. Assist with various ad hoc analyses and special projects.


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with at least 7 years of relevant work experience;
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Experience using Workday, SAP, and COGNOS a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines.
