JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Manager, Office of the President is a singular opportunity looking to identify someone who is endlessly curious about content, meticulous in their work and communication, and knowledgeable about the professionalism and finesse needed to represent the President of Content at National Geographic. Candidates will have exceptional support skills along with proven leadership and project management. The high volume of work demands great attention to detail and a knack for prioritizing. The position deals with sensitive material and requires confidentiality, trust, and common sense. This role can sit in Los Angeles, New York City, or Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the President’s calendar and collaborate with Coordinator to prioritize their time and schedule.

  • Draft letters, emails, presentation decks, meeting agendas, and other correspondence on behalf of the President.  

  • Relay information on behalf of President in meetings and phone calls with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support President in meetings by taking notes and capturing action items.

  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the President.

  • When needed, act as the liaison between President and other executives and stakeholders to ensure involvement or decision-making at the proper time.

  • Manage Greenlight workflow process, coordinating with Development execs and other key stakeholders to ensure key milestones and materials requirements are met. 

  • Manage National Geographic content project slate/tracker, coordinating with creative executives as well as key DMED stakeholders .

  • Track KPIs for Nat Geo Content team and coordinate share-outs on ongoing basis to broader organization for awareness.

  • Keep finger on the pulse of how people are experiencing the organization and recommend new communications and initiatives as needed.  Serve as liaison to Culture Committee.  

  • Stay apprised of Enterprise and Segment priorities and relationships and anticipate/help meet related needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required/MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous media experience required, strongly prefer network, studio, or agency background.

  • Minimum 8 years supporting senior leadership.

  • Minimum 5 years professional management experience.

  • Mature judgement and discretion in keeping sensitive information confidential.

  • History of driving complex projects in the face of ambiguity.

  • Distinctive written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient/Expert in PowerPoint and other presentation software.

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.

  • Strong orientation to company culture.

  • High sense of responsibility.

  • Demonstrated excellent time management.
