OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

How about handling vendors strategically, concentrating on growing spend with fewer vendors while optimizing value for end-users? Are you prepared to join us as we assist the Director of Sourcing and Procurement, Asia-Pacific/Procurement Lead, Japan in building and leading cross―functional teams, developing and implementing sourcing arrangements with preferred suppliers, and negotiating supply relationships for internal clients? Areas of Responsibility

  • Have an extensive procurement background in indirect sourcing categories and categories of spend. Experience in marketing and production sourcing will be an added advantage

  • Provide detailed cost and market analysis following models established by Sourcing focusing on total cost of ownership.

  • Prepare and implement clear, structured negotiations following the Strategic Sourcing process.

  • Plan and implement activities to ensure timely placement of orders for materials, supplies, equipment and services as required

  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and standard processes.

  • Continually assess market conditions and develop procurement strategies that improve value to the Company.

  • Meet clients’ requirements for service, quality and value at lowest total cost.

  • Communicate and report to management the status of any critical purchases that could affect planning.

  • Be aware of market trends and conditions in the marketing, production, technology, general services and supply chain and understand how these affect suppliers, cost of goods/services, pricing, and the resulting impact to clients.

  • Research and implement “standard process” procurement techniques, including supporting technologies related to sourcing commodities.

  • Participate in professional development activities to stay ahead of current industry standard processes and continuously improve professional skills and technical expertise.

  • Provide support to other territories as needed.

  • Demonstrate outstanding integrity and ethics in all instances.

  • Harmonize with and influence collaborators at all levels of the business.

  • Ensure compliance, cost savings and performance measures are established, supervised and achieved.

  • Build/establish strategic relationships with key suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience(Minimum 4-5 years) with a strong record of procurement and an extraordinary procurement department.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of marketing, production, technology, general services and supply chain and experience leading related procurement activity.

  • Proven category management experience.

  • Experience operating as an internal business consultant.

  • Experience in working in a virtual team.

  • Proficient in English.
