We are seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to join us and drive and manage the Party and Arts & Craft category within the Australian and New Zealand market as part of the Softlines LOB. The role also includes additional administrative responsibilities and tasks to provide support to the overall ANZ Softlines team.

-This is a 12-month contract due to internal opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

Admin Support

  • Support the Commercial Manager in managing partners including organising and building presentations for internal and external use, collating product inspiration and franchise information
  • Provide general support to Softlines Director, and Senior Commercial Managers

Commercial Management

  • Lead a portfolio of licensees across the Party, Arts & Craft and Accessories categories
  • Manage licensee base including: category strategy development, regular partnership review and analysis, franchise updates, joint business planning and retail pitching – with ambition to drive growth in line with Softlines LOB strategic objectives
  • Responsibility for tracking the forecasting and reporting of managed licensee against budget and prior year, including data entry
  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager across the broader ‘wholesale’ business and commercial planning needs

Retail Focus

  • Partner with the retail brand development team to build and execute strong, industry leading programs
  • Maximise key annual and seasonal retail events relevant to the key categories
  • Engage and build meaningful relationships with retail buyers ensuring strong support for Disney programs

Marketing Responsibility

  • Collaborating with the Retail Marketing team to support licensees and retailers with Disney campaigns

Ideal experience required:

  • 1-2 years experience as an Assistant Manager or Executive preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Marketing preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in Brand Management/Licensing/Account Management
  • Financial management experience with relation to forecasting and budgeting
  • Good understanding of retail environment
  • Understanding of the accessories category a bonus
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships both internally and externally
