Job Summary:

Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineering (QE) Manager to lead a newly established QE team in India supporting Disney’s Enterprise Technology & Delivery platforms, including Workday and SAP applications. This role will be responsible for managing a team of QE Automation Engineers while driving high-quality delivery across multiple sustainment initiatives.

The QE Manager will play a critical role in advancing modern quality engineering practices, including shift-left testing, automation, and AI-enabled testing capabilities. This leader will collaborate closely with global QE, Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Release Management teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Delivery Management

  • Lead and manage a team of 11 QE engineers, ensuring high performance, engagement, and professional growth
  • Oversee day-to-day testing activities, including functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Provide direction on test planning, execution, and defect management
  • Mentor and guide team members on modern QE practices, including automation and shift-left strategies
  • Coordinate with US leaders to ensure alignment on priorities and sealess

2. Quality Engineering Execution

  • Drive end-to-end quality validation for commerce applications across projects and sustainment work
  • Ensure appropriate test coverage, automation strategy, and risk-based testing approaches
  • Partner with development teams to support component and integration testing during sprints
  • Oversee defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking

3. Operational Excellence & Service Delivery

  • Oversee day-to-day QE service delivery, ensuring alignment with program timelines and release goals
  • Support intake, estimation, and test planning processes
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, processes, and compliance requirements
  • Support audit activities and reporting needs related to quality and testing

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborating with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Release Management, and Business teams to align on testing scope, risks, and priorities
  • Partner with global QE teams (CQE, GQE, and others) to ensure consistent testing practices and standards
  • Participate in PI Planning and program-level forums, ensuring QE alignment and readiness

5. Environment, Access & Enablement Support

  • Ensure team readiness by supporting onboarding of new engineers, including access, tools, and training
  • Help manage test environments, test data readiness, and access requirements
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to resolve environment and tooling issues impacting testing

6. Tools, Automation & Innovation

  • Drive adoption of test automation frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and reduce cycle time
  • Support implementation of AI-enabled QE capabilities, including test generation, coverage analysis, and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes and improve productivity

7. Governance & Asset Management

  • Ensure compliance with organizational processes, security standards, and audit requirements
  • Support tracking and management of testing tools, licenses, and related assets
  • Maintain visibility into team utilization, deliverables, and performance metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Software Testing, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong experience in functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Experience managing distributed or offshore teams
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday and SAP
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with AI/Agentic AI applications in testing
  • Familiarity with performance, security, or accessibility testing
  • Experience working in a global delivery model
  • Experience testing enterprise business platforms such as Workday and SAP

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
