Job Summary: In this role, you will become part of a collaborative team of technology experts to create next-generation video consumption platforms. We are looking for a self-starter who values passion, community involvement, and writing code that stands out. You will participate in overall system design, analysis, programming/coding, debugging, and come up with enterprise-level backend systems that are highly available and scalable. You will need to communicate effectively with a broad audience, from technical to non-technical, through strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Define, architect, design, and build high-quality software solutions across multiple platforms and with several engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with other software engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Regularly review code from peers for continuous improvements and shared knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide on-call support.
  • Evangelize technologies, solutions, and best practices.
  • Contribute new ideas to a larger community of high-caliber professionals.
  • Mentor early-career developers via pair programming, technical talks, and code reviews.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in building software for consumer facing products and/or enterprise backend systems.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms to solve problems.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS (Box Model, Specificity, Flexbox, Grid), CSS Design Systems (BEM, OOCSS)
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Java, and Kotlin.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as AngularJS or React.
  • Experience in building microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Experience working with AWS or similar cloud services.
  • Experience in RESTful web services and GraphQL.
  • Experience in relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience in continuous integration and deployment.
  • Solid communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Ability to function well within a diverse team.

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $138,900.00-$186,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
