This Sr Software Engineer – Project Hire role would be part of our Business Technology Platforms group, which is responsible for the products and platforms that support Disney’s corporate business functions, and our enterprise service management platforms (Appian, Salesforce, & ServiceNow). This individual will be responsible for translating requirements and user stories into functional software that delivers value to the business. They will help design, develop, test, and implement complex software for use across Disney. We’re seeking someone with strong understanding of Legal and/or Secure Document Management Systems to ensure that we are building the “best-in-class” products and continuously maintaining and enhancing existing products to improve our competitive advantage and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of software systems and services

  • Lead the development of medium innovative software solutions that meet specifications and impact future development

  • Conduct initial planning, ensuring technical and operational models meet overall system and business requirements

  • Review, test, and debug software to improve viability

  • Collaborate with multi-functional technical teams to ensure accurate alignment on projects and software feature work

  • Set technical architectural direction for assigned areas, serving as an escalation point for difficult problems as they arise

  • Act as a peer group leader to help train staff on Software Engineering standards and processes

Needed Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience developing solutions on Document Management or Legal Software solutions

  • Validated experience within JavaScript, Java, REST, XML, HTML, and CSS

  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 or later and ITSM standard methodologies

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies (PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, ICP-ACC, etc.)

  • Effective communication, writing, and executive presentation skills- with an ability to translate sophisticated ideas into understandable strategies, requirements, value statements, and business outcomes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a related field

  • Related Certifications (ITIL, technical, Agile, etc.)

The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $136,038 to $182,490 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
