As a Technology Business Management Lead, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate technology management, finance expertise, and analytical capabilities to drive IT service, application, and infrastructure cost optimization opportunities and efforts across Enterprise Technology. The Technology Business Management Lead will enable both systematic and periodic evaluation of operating expenditures, as well as targeted efficiency programs, in close coordination with established IT Business Operations and IT Portfolio Management functions.

In support of CIO and leadership strategic direction, you will propose and lead cross-functional efficiency programs that will provide insights into the operating expenditures of our key IT services, applications and infrastructure and use those insights to reveal redundant IT assets and capabilities, freeing up resources for investments in “grow- and change-the-business” initiatives.

This position will play a significant role in building a cross-functional IT Financial Management capability grounded in Technology Business Management principles and coordinated across Portfolio Management, Technology Business Operations and Finance teams. The position requires interaction with cross-functional departments, collaboration across other technology portfolios, and excellent verbal and written communication, and relationship leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with program executives, service and application owners, and functional Business leaders to develop a strategy to drive ongoing cost optimization of service portfolios.

  • Consult with service and application owners to assess cost drivers impacting current and potential IT investments or divestments, leading to improved business investments backed by data.

  • Develop standard cost clarity dashboards based on partner needs and establish monthly operational processes.

  • Drive specific cost optimization programs and projects to ensure delivery of intended outcomes.

  • Develop ongoing measurement framework of programs and projects to analyze delivery of intended business outcomes

  • Provide IT Financial Management expertise and analytical capabilities.

  • Promote continuous improvements to the TBM framework, model, taxonomy, and metrics through the infusion of industry standard methodologies and current trends.

  • Exercise critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Identify, track, and help support resolution of cross-portfolio dependencies and conflicts.

  • Support related IT framework, governance, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Drive and own completion of special projects.

  • Deliver on ad-hoc requests as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in the IT Financial Management or Technology Business Management industry.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business operations reporting, financial planning, strategic planning and/or annual budgeting.

  • Experience working in a Technology Business Management, ITFM and/or IT Portfolio Management teams in the private or public sector.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

  • MBA, MIS or other equivalent degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Experience in implementation or management of Technology Business Management, ITFM and/or Portfolio Management teams in the private or public sector.

  • Experience as product or service owner.

  • Experience implementing or managing APPTIO TBM platform.

  • Certified Technology Business Management Executive (CTBME) or other related ITFM certifications preferred.


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $164,492 to $220,600 and in Seattle, WA $172,282 to $231,110 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
