Job Summary:

At Disney, we are storytellers. We make the impossible, possible. The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) is a world-class entertainment and technology leader. Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world, a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies, streaming services and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance and protect these exciting experiences.

The Global Information Security (GIS) group provides services and solutions to protect the value and use of Disney’s information through risk evaluation, collaboration, standardization, enforcement, operations, and education across the enterprise. We protect the brand and reputation while enabling and supporting business objectives

The Vice President, Information Security Strategy, Engagement, and Architecture is responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise-wide and globally oriented information security strategy to ensure information assets are protected. The VP, SEA will lead the evaluation and integration of cutting-edge security technologies to protect Disney’s expanding digital footprint. The position is also responsible for owning the consultative strategy of the organization, centralizing and standardizing our approach for architecture guidance and security solution development throughout the organization across all segments. In this role, the VP, SEA will also provide technical guidance and counsel to GIS leadership, extended TLT leadership, and The Walt Disney Company Executive Team where appropriate.

To protect TWDC customers and brands against an evolving and sophisticated set of global threat actors, this role leads the ongoing and iterative assessment of the products and services used by GIS. This accountability extends from the governance through to execution of all security components for physical and digital operations (hardware, software, network, cloud, development environments and facilities).

The successful candidate must be results-driven and able to articulate complex concepts to all audiences, ranging from technical contributors to executive leadership, inside and outside the company; and is innately curious and passionate about information security and The Walt Disney Company.

What You Will Do

  • Set the enterprise security vision. Own and evolve Disney’s global information security strategy, architecture, and roadmap across cloud, applications, networks, data, and emerging technologies.

  • Embed security into the business. Act as a strategic, consultative partner to business and technology leaders—translating complex cyber risk into clear business and enterprise risk decisions for executives and boards.

  • Lead technology strategy and innovation. Evaluate and integrate modern security capabilities, including AI/ML-based detection, IoT, and new platforms supporting Disney’s digital and physical experiences.

  • Drive risk governance and assurance. Establish and oversee security governance, metrics, and risk management frameworks spanning cybersecurity, privacy, SOX, resilience, and thirdparty risk.

  • Build and lead globally. Lead senior teams responsible for security architecture and consultative engagement, fostering inclusive leadership and strong crosssegment relationships worldwide.

  • Engage at the executive level. Prepare and deliver cybersecurity and IT risk updates to senior executives, audit committees, and other key governance bodies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in cybersecurity, risk, and technology for large, complex, global organizations; prior CISO experience preferred.

  • Deep technical foundation across infrastructure, software, cloud, data, and modern digital platforms paired with strong business judgment and executive presence.

  • Proven ability to translate technical threats and vulnerabilities into enterprise and brand risk for Csuite and board audiences.

  • Experience operating in highly matrixed environments where influence, partnership, and trust are critical.

  • Familiarity with leading security, privacy, and risk frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT, GDPR); relevant certifications are a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

  • Advanced degree in the above fields preferred

The hiring range for this position in [location] is $251,900.00-$337,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
