At Walt Disney Animation Studios, our mission is to bring captivating stories to life through innovation and artistry. We are seeking talented and passionate individuals for our Summer 2026 Technology Internship Program.
As a Summer 2026 Technology Intern, you’ll gain insight into how technology supports and enhances the creative process at an animation studio, while expanding your skills through mentorship from industry experts.
Our Information Services team strives to design and develop solutions, often integrating 3rd party products, to optimize our internal business processes and inform decision making. We partner with a wide range of departments including Production Management, HR, Recruitment, Communications, Training and Finance. We focus primarily on web technologies to provide solutions for our stakeholders.
We’re looking for a Data Engineering Intern to contribute to building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that power our new data platform. If you’re passionate about solving problems with data, especially as they relate to the animated filmmaking process, and curious about new technologies, we’d love to hear from you!
Project Includes:
AI for Data Quality - How can we leverage AI agents in existing data applications & warehouses to report possible quality issues in our data platforms and sources? Especially for anomaly detection within existing data pipelines.
Data Quality Visualization - How can we surface pipeline and quality information in front ends like Snowflake to make troubleshooting easier? This could involve both front end application development for dashboards, or backend reporting and monitoring for data quality issues.
Support our existing self-service analytics workflows by helping to prepare clean, well-modeled data for a varied group of end users.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience with SQL
Familiarity with data structures & database infrastructure
Experience using AI to solve data problems
Familiarity with modern data warehousing and analytics tools (i.e. Snowflake, Tableau, etc.)
Familiarity with API’s (REST, GraphQL), and other backend technologies
Demonstrated knowledge of Python (can include coursework or projects)
Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to grow in a collaborative environment
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Self-motivated to research and learn new technologies
Comfortable with reaching out to fellow engineers for assistance when appropriate and providing regular project updates to the team and stakeholders
Required Education
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Program Details
Location: Burbank, CA
Program Length: May/June - August/September 2026 (12 weeks)
Eligibility
Must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in an accredited college/university during the Spring or Fall semester/quarter prior to the internship or currently participating in a Disney College Program or Professional Internship.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Must provide full availability for the entire program duration.

The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $40.00 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
