Job Summary:

Within the Platform & Infrastructure team, Network Services is responsible for ongoing installation, monitoring, support, and maintenance of data networks inside and outside Walt Disney Animation Studios, including our Burbank and Vancouver locations.

Network Engineers work to provide highly available and scalable core infrastructure services that are hosted within our on-premises data center and/or cloud providers. This work includes in-depth system analysis, design, troubleshooting, integrating new products, and developing tools and strategies to improve existing systems. They work with various networking devices, including but not limited to Layer 3 Switches, Routers, Network Security Devices, Load Balancers, IP Routing, Wireless Controllers and Access Points, Firewalls, and Point-To-Point Connections.

Project Includes:

  • Network Access Control (NAC) prototype using a protocol called 802.1x, which can identify if a computer is allowed on our network based on certificates.

Key Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Linux, MacOS, or other Unix-based Operating Systems.
  • Python, Csh, Bash, or Go scripting skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to multitask in a highly complex, diverse production environment.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of access control systems and protocols, including TACACS and RADIUS
  • Strong knowledge of network overlay technologies, including VXLAN and BGP EVPN
  • Expertise with network analysis and performance tools such as Snoop, TCPDump, Wireshark, TTCP, IPerf, IXIA, SNMP, OpenView, Nagios, Netflow and Zabbix.
  • Installation and configuration of networking technology from multiple manufacturers, including Cisco (IOS), Cisco Nexus (NXOS), Arista, Aruba, F5, and Palo Alto Networks.

Education:

Currently working toward a Master's with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or another related technical field.

Program Details:

  • Location: Burbank, CA.

  • Program Length: May/June - August/September 2025 (12 weeks).

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Eligibility Requirements:

At the time of application:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university , taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. 

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and provide full availability for the entire program duration.

  • Must provide your own housing and transportation during the internship.

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.


The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $45.00 per hour.
