As Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) organization undergoes immense growth, we are seeking a Quality System Specialist to play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality safety documentation processes, regulatory compliance, and continuous safety performance improvement. The role will seek efficiencies in process and drive operational safety by improving safety performance with an emphasis on concise quality documentation, to streamline and enhance our operational focus.

You will report to the Director of Safety DSE (Deputy DPA).

This position is based in Celebration, Florida.

You Will:

  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance overall quality and safety documentation.

  • Develop and consolidate the Safety Quality Management system program encompassing operations validation for Quality assurance systems, and metrics to improve company safety.

  • Champion a "quality /safety first" culture focused on documentation and operational quality, reliability, and meeting or exceeding Company expectations.

  • Establishes and leads performance improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and benchmarks.

  • Build very strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of quality processes with all DSE partners.

  • Conduct detailed assessments of existing business processes, systems, and workflows, inclusive of documentation, to identify inefficiencies, redundancy, and areas for enhancement.

  • Document, communicate, and lead changes to ensure consistency practices and safety improvement and compliance.

  • Assist in the development of Key Performance Indicators to monitor and analyze performance and/or experience and identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and ensure the changes made are understood, implemented effectively and remain fit for purpose.

  • Collaborate with DSE partners to evolve and mature the Quality Process & Continuous Improvement Program

  • Support the VP Safety and Director, Safety -DSE to align on site business plans and quality initiatives.

  • Represent and champion quality in DSE wide committees and meetings.

  • Serve as Disney Cruise Line Quality Advocate, providing training and follow-up with Disney Cruise Line departments to enhance their documentation and processes to meet Company quality standards.

  • Assist with current re-write and continuous enhancement of Disney Cruise Line Safety Management System documentation.

  • Be very familiar with ISO 9001 /ISO 14001 standards.

  • Works with leadership and legal team to address safety, quality and compliance issues and mitigate risks.

  • Conducts regular ship visits to assess safety and quality programs and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assists in the analysis, and interpretation of injury and healthcare data from various sources.

  • Applies data to identify patterns, measure performance, and support decision-making processes.

  •  Proficient at technical editing and writing.

  • Prepares and presents data-driven reports to executive leadership and relevant partners.

  • A self-starter with the ability to “carve out” new initiatives and work alone on projects as required

  • Work as directed.

  • Occasional international travel is a requirement.

You Will Have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a related field

  • Must have a collaborative mindset and be adept at building strong relationships with diverse, geographically dispersed operational partners .

  • Proficiency in project management principles to plan and implement improvement processes effectively.

  • Experience using root cause analysis techniques to address quality process issues and prevent their recurrence.

  • Ability to support organizational and cultural change processes.

  • Familiarity with the ability to drive corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ability to serve in a critical influence and integration role across multiple business units with ability to drive numerous complex work streams in parallel.

  • Strong comprehension of continuous improvement principles and the ability to apply them into existing processes.

Required Education

  • BA/BS degree in Business/Operations Management/Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Education

  • Master’s Degree or Project Management certification

  • ISO 9000 Certification / Quality Management Certification
