We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the Disney Cruise Line organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with WDI and Enterprise Technology from across the company. 

About The Role & Team:

  • The DCL Network Team is a comprehensive team that designs, deploys, manages and supports network devices and systems across the Disney Cruise Line ecosystem including cruise ships, home ports, and development systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Design a complete and complex framework, system, or product (i.e. Deploy new network topology and configurations, upgrade network platforms for security and operational need, work as a network subject matter expert in collaboration with partner teams and in projects.)
  • Define and drive processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
  • Establish and build network interfaces to support business requirements and in development of new platforms.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve complex network technical problems.
  • Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems
  • Provide technical expertise for next generation initiatives
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies
  • This role may entail frequent travel, approximately 30-40% of the time, to provide support to DCL shipyards, drydocks, and islands as needed
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Must be proficient in [Cisco Systems Wireless technologies (WLC, LW AP, Wireless site survey) Cisco Systems Routing and Switching, Security appliances (ISE, DNAC), Palo Alto firewalls, VMWare AVI Load balancing, F5 Load balancing, ] with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies
  • Assists in network configuration and firmware deployments, showcasing (must have proficiency) in Python scripting and automated deployment techniques
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Configures and manages networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers with in-depth knowledge to support complex network environments
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of network security principles, best practices, and proficient use of ISE appliances
  • Proficiently troubleshoots network issues, taking a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Able to work independently and execute complex network deployments without extensive supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated and responsive to a primarily a remotely supported environment that is geographically diverse and active 24/365.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong skillset in technical problem solving, understanding of networking concepts and standard topology, strong experience in wireless LAN troubleshooting and management.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

  • Cisco Systems certifications at the Network professional level or higher, with concentration in routing and switching, wireless, and security.
