Job Summary:

Are you passionate about the intersection of technology and creativity? Can you comfortably navigate both the GUI and command line of a UNIX system, troubleshoot the Wi-Fi on your friend or family member’s iPhone, and figure out why your document won’t print? The Systems Department at Pixar Animation Studios is offering an exciting internship opportunity geared towards students pursuing a career in systems administration. The program provides hands-on experience and exposure to the creative energy of a working animation studio. During this 12-week internship, you will join a team of systems engineers on the Devices & Deployment team, providing elegant technical solutions and delivering comprehensive support to the creators of some of the most iconic films ever made. Through this internship, you will gain valuable experience provisioning, deploying, and supporting user-facing hardware and software in a cross-platform environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Familiarity with Linux, or other UNIX-like operating systems, and/or macOS
  • Ability to troubleshoot open-ended technical issues
  • Experience using email, calendar, and common productivity tools such as Google Docs, Slack, etc.
  • Ability to work in awkward locations, such as data centers, theater projection booths, and under desks
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects weighing up to 40 lbs

Bonus Points:

  • Experience at a helpdesk or similar support environment
  • Experience using Jamf Pro, or similar software for Apple device management
  • Experience writing shell scripts, or programming in a higher-level language such as Python or Ruby
  • Experience with Windows and/or iOS devices

Eligibility:

  • You must be a junior in college working towards a degree in a related field, and returning to school in the fall.
  • This is a full-time position. You are required to be onsite Mon-Fri from 5.19.25 – 8.8.25.
  • Must already possess the legal authorization to work in the US.
