The Merchandise Business Insight and Analytics team has responsibility for providing core retail merchandise, planning, analytics, and reporting systems to support the full Retail Product Lifecycle management and drive actionable insights for the Global Product Creation Group. 

We are currently seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer who can turn data into meaningful insights through advanced visualizations and BI tools. This role provides technical leadership to the BI team and helps the organization make smarter decisions that improve efficiency and profitability.

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will report to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence.

This is a Full-Time Role

What You Will Do:

  • Lead cross-functional projects with merchandise planners, analysts, technical partners, and business leaders to drive prioritized development aligned with strategic business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into clear product specifications to guide effective engineering development.
  • Provide technical guidance on building efficient and maintainable data pipelines to solve business challenges.
  • Design and maintain scalable BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data pipelines, to support analytical and operational needs.
  • Conduct peer code reviews focused on query development, data cleaning, and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across BI solutions.
  • Design, validate, and optimize ETL processes and large data repositories to improve performance, accuracy, and maintainability.
  • Design and deliver interactive and static data visualizations that support business recommendations and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Apply best practices in reporting and analysis to ensure stakeholder expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis across data pipelines, refresh schedules, reports, and access issues within the BI environment, ensuring timely resolution and system reliability.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to manage issues, updates, and compliance while balancing new development with ongoing support.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience developing advanced BI solutions—including dashboards, reports, and data pipelines—for large-scale retail environments, with a strong focus on analysis, design, and performance optimization.
  • Skilled in working with large datasets, writing complex T-SQL queries, and performing SQL tuning, troubleshooting, and data transformations
  • Technical proficiency in these data technology subject areas:
    • Data pipeline technologies and ETL tools and languages such as SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep
    • Database technologies such as Snowflake, SQL Server
    • Data Visualization and Consumption Tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, Business Objects
    • Data warehouse and data lake architecture
    • Scripting languages such as Snowscript, Javascript, VBA, Python - Preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting and identifying the root cause for production system issues and driving swift resolution
  • Ability to quickly learn new technical systems and processes in order to complete required engineering tasks
  • Experience working with different project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum)
  • An ability to simplify complex problems, synthesize data, and create compelling narratives to inform decision making
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and teams (both small and large, technical and non-technical)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, related education or equivalent work experience is required
  • MBA is preferred
